@DustinFNW Any update? We GX550 owners need a nice 17" wheel with 40+ offset as well. No fake beadlock or stickers please. There are already some good 18" options, many of which are discussed in this thread, but no great 17" options that I am aware of. Happy to be proven wrong on that, though!
Sick, dude! Sign me up. Im also in SoCal if you need a test bed or photo op.Hi @nartmot ,
We're planning to have at least one model of our 17" wheels in LC250 / GX550 specs available for purchase within 3-5 months. The final design and engineering process is going on now.
Thank you. I will take you up on that offer in the not to distant future. I'll send you a private message shortly. It will be a few months before we have final samples here for physical test fitting and photo op, but I'd love to be able to get in touch with once the wheels are here.Sick, dude! Sign me up. Im also in SoCal if you need a test bed or photo op.
Hi @ryanjl ,You know which design the wheels will be?
But Method also have many similar styles.Except Method but there always out of stock !
We've got the 17" design finalized now.You know which design the wheels will be?
Yes, we have the 17" design finished and the spec range has also been finalized. I would like to get some feedback from everyone here on the forum regarding the highest possible offset.any updates?
Me trying to goad them into releasing the wheels![]()
This is very exciting news, not just for the LC250 folks but pretty much all of Toyota's truck/SUV lineup on the new TNGA platform. Spring 2026 can't come soon enough. I understand that you want the design fully fleshed out and tested, though. We've got the 17" design finalized now.

Also, the release date has been pushed back. We're now projecting the release date for the new 17" model to be closer to Spring 2026. My initial intent was to offer you guys 17x8.5" +34mm offset versions of the Five Star and Six Shooter flow formed wheels that we currently make. These are the maximum offsets that we can offer for these two models, and I feel that these would fit well. Since we already produce these wheels, increasing the offset just requires a small machining change during production.
However after considering all of the feedback we received I now realize that you guys, especially you guys who own 1958 Editions, would prefer higher offsets. Consequently we went back to the drawing board, and worked on a design that incorporates all of the feedback that we received from members of this forum. This required all new development, engineering, and testing, which we've been working on for the past few months.
The new wheel will be based on our popular 17" Countersteer Type X flow formed design. This is a Japanese inspired, six spoke design that we've offered in various iterations since 2006. This newest version will be completely updated for the latest Toyota trucks. We considered the need for a light weight wheel with plenty of brake clearance, higher offset options, hub centric center bores, strong load ratings, and larger tire diameters among other factors.
Projected specs:
17x8.0" +35 6x139.7 (95.2mm hub centric)
17x8.5" +40 6x139.7 (95.2mm hub centric)
17x8.5" +45 6x139.7 (95.2mm hub centric)
17x8.5" +48 6x139.7 (95.2mm hub centric)*
17x9.0" +35 6x139.7 (95.2mm hub centric)
17x9.0" +42 6x139.7 (95.2mm hub centric)
Construction: Flow formed from A356.2 T6 premium, high purity aluminum alloy sourced from EGA (DUBAL).
Wheel weights: 21.8lbs ~ 23.8lbs Exact weight will vary depending on width/offset configuration, and these weights are estimated +/- 5%.
Load rating: 2,500lbs (SAE J2530)
Test standards: SAE J2530 (toughest standard available), JWL-T, VIA, DOT-T
Maximum tire diameter: 37" - This is noteworthy since most wheel manufacturers don't publish the max tire diameter for a given load rating. Larger diameter tires effectively decrease the load rating of a wheel, and we took into account the largest tire diameter that one would possibly install. We sought to minimize the weight of the wheel while maximizing the load rating with a substantially larger overall tire diameter.
Additional features: Reinforced flanges, raised bead humps, and knurled bead seats for improved bead retention with lower tire pressures. Knurled bead seats also help to keep the tire bead from slipping which can occur with high torque hybrid/EV motors. Lug holes are drilled to accept extended thread (ET) lug nuts for maximum stud engagement with Toyota's short OEM wheel studs.
*17x8.5" +48 6x139.7 is the highest offset that we will offer. This offset has been added specifically at the request of Landcruiser owners.
Once our mold is finished, sample wheels have been produced, and the final tests have been passed, I will survey this forum to see if we have enough demand for the +48mm offset. This high of an offset will require a domed center cap as opposed to the flat cap option that will be available for the other offsets. The domed cap is necessary to fit over the front axle grease cap. If we make the wheels ET45, then a flat cap or domed cap will fit.
I've included a few renderings below to illustrate.
High offset (ET 48) with domed cap:

+35 offset (no cap):

The above images are computer renderings. Below are a few pictures of this actual design in a much lower offset version that we currently produce : 17x9" -25mm offset. While this type of a deep dish design is impossible with the high offsets required by the Landcruiser 250, these pictures provide a very good representation of what the actual wheels look like in various colors and with different center cap options. Aside from the depth of the center of the wheel, the high offset version will be basically identical.

In addition to the 17" Countersteer Type X flow formed, I am working on a fully forged 17" and 18" wheel for you guys. The design will be totally different than the Countersteer Type X, and the forged wheels will cost more, but I think you all will really like it. Once we're a little closer I will post more details.
