🛠️ What Have You Done To Your LC250 Today?

I am interested in hearing how that performs long term.
I've been running LFP batteries in my ocean racing sailboat for 10+ years when it was way harder to do and never looked back. Expecting zero problems on the land cruiser for my use case of occasional camping and emergency winching

Using Antgravity Start on my motorcycles. One still working, other swollen up holding 4Volts after 2 years use!!! Quite disappointed as the start function is really nice. For the price one pays for LFP batteries would expect better life expectancy/quality! In two minds over the quality.

Hopefully I'll have better luck than you. Have not bought from Antigravity before but they seem to have decent reviews. will keep everyone posted regarding how this performs.

Got my brake squeal fixed (finally). Nice to get a new set of pads out of the deal, as well.

Mine squeal sometimes, first thing in the morning, but only in Reverse, backing out of the garage. But then it goes away for the rest of the day. Was that your experience too?

For me, yes… initially. Then it would occur throughout the day. I found myself parking where I didn’t have to back up to exit the parking space. Embarrassing.

Welcome to the asylum.

installed Magnaflow system. Noticeable rumble at start up, very quiet when rolling down the road. Can't discern a noticeable difference when capet matting from a stop, but does seem to have a bit more linear Power while driving along. Mileage has taken a +1 MPG improvement from a day's driving. I also switched it up from ECO to SPORT. Not sure if this has had any bearing on increased mileage? I did run it in ECO mode and noticed mileage improvement. Reset odometer after fill up and change to SPORT.

1 mpg difference could be attributed to something as simple as a slightly heavier foot one day. Not discounting that it could be from your exhaust change, but it’s so hard to tell what’s driver behavior vs equipment with such granular measures. I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on the system after 1k miles or so to see how it’s settled in!

IDK, I generally get in and go with the flow, driving as usual. I don't drive like I did when I was a teenager but definitely drive a bit more aggressively than most my age. I would have thought that the mileage would have plummeted in SPORT mode?

That’s logical, and the logic would follow that Eco gives the best mileage - but as crazy as it sounds, I seem to get the worst mileage on Eco mode!

Installed full front Toyota skid plates. Still have the rear diff to do but that’s for another day. Pretty easy install just took me some time. Definitely need two people.

Another early Christmas gift from my wife — she got me the Victory 4x4 molle side panels! (She took advantage of the Black Friday deal they were running.)

Since I’m running the OEM rack, I knew I’d have to add a bend — my preference was to merely widen the angle already present at the top of the bracket. I nearly ripped my little bench vise off my workbench at home, so I took it to work (first day of my Christmas vacation and I drove to work 🤦‍♂️ ).

I snuck in the back to avoid everyone and tried to find a way to widen the angle with our sheet metal press, but it just wasn’t up to snuff — in fact, all I managed to do was scrape the powder coating on the bracket.

Fortunately, my shop has a much bigger and better bench vise than I do at home. With cardboard to protect the powder coating this time, it was actually pretty easy to bend the bracket. Like @t3lcfe has pointed out in other threads, the holes in the bracket make it a natural weak point that bends relatively easily.

I’m curious how much wind noise this will add (I’m pretty deaf so unless I’m in a good cross-wind I don’t even notice my roof rack).

Update: There’s a bit of different noise around 50-60mph but above that speed I can’t hear anything anyway 🤷‍♂️

Decided to call a spade a spade. Is that politically incorrect? Anyway, it's a Prado so I put a Prado emblem on today.

I’ve been wanting this particular emblem but every time I check they’re sold out 😂
