Complete Sound Deadening Project

Not sure, but Toyota does weird things that's for sure!

Honestly yes, I hear an improved audio quality after doing the rear hatch. I asked my wife if she could tell but she just said I was crazy

It's not really something I plan to do...
That’s okay, thanks anyway. If you ever plan to, I’ll be there to watch! Thanks for what you have done so far.

For anyone wondering if those windshield weather strips work. I did a before & after sound test holding the mic up close to the glass, and got a 1.2 reduction in dB levels. Not much, but they do in fact cut down some wind noise.

Spent my free-time installing a supercharger on my Tacoma over the holidays.

I’ll start back on this LC250 sound deadening project next week!

TCCN did a video of a 4Runner that a client brought in, that had a client installed super charger, which was causing problem with the engine. Ahmed had to return the 4R to the stock induction system.

T4R is dual vvti, Tacoma is single. These superchargers have been out forever without issue

Any issues with drainage? I thought I saw where those blocked a drainage hole.

What hole punches do you use? Is there a specific type for cutting the deadening material?

Made good progress on the rear passenger door today. The upper piece was one of the oddest shapes I’ve ever cut out, but it looks awesome as one big piece inside.

The other two were pretty straight forward shapes and also one big piece each.

Great work on this project. I couldn't find it if you've mentioned this already, but are you saving the stencils to sell at all? I wonder if there would be a market for that kind of thing. Pre-cut kits from the manufacturer, laser cut in their factory would likely demand the premium that that convenience would justify. I, for example, would love to buy a hood and front fender kit.

Thanks! No I’m not saving them, but I do make YouTube videos showing how to do it.

All done with the inside of the door. The rear doors feel much easier to get done. Hoping to finish this one by the end of the week. Then I can do the driver side and the dB test.
