The front door video is live. No before and after dB tests yet, because it got too long. I will do that after the rear doors and lift gate are complete...

I'm not sure, but I do know that my windshield is the acoustic option from the factory. Got a rock chip and that's what Toyota told me it was per my vin (part number: 56101-6B934):Taco, request, can you install the GX505 laminated windows? Should be plug and play.
No we all have acoustic windshield, but the side doors are only acoustic and lamanted on the GX550. You can buy them from any parts place for about $350.I'm not sure, but I do know that my windshield is the acoustic option from the factory. Edit* I also have heads up display and adaptive cruise. Maybe that's why I have the acoustic glass.
did the sound deadening on the rear hatch improve the audio system sound outputGot the rear finished up and reassembled. There were a total of 6 hours labor on the rear lift gate alone. Next up, rear doors and dB test after!

Welcome to the asylum.Taco, request, can you install the GX550 laminated windows? Should be plug and play. Someone said the regulators might not be able to move them. I doubt it, I bet it moved the heavier windows and gives great sound deadening.
I don’t care why “they” say. If the source of that info is a dealer, then it ain’t worth a lick. The only reason I can think of for why it wouldn’t work is due to the heavier weight. I bet it works anyway. Would make a great video.Welcome to the asylum.
Using GX windows in a ‘24+ LC has been addressed in the past. They said that it won’t work.
Well, go for it.I don’t care why “they” say. If the source of that info is a dealer, then it ain’t worth a lick. The only reason I can think of for why it wouldn’t work is due to the heavier weight. I bet it works anyway. Would make a great video.
I’m asking Tacosupreme to go for it. I hope he does. I found his videos before I found him on this forum, if anyone can do it, it’s him. Me personally? I don’t need the extra deadening.Well, go for it.
Please let us know how it goes..
Not sure, but Toyota does weird things that's for sure! Why would they make 3 different types of glass, This does not make sense, That would imply some model higher trim levels do not have acoustic glass because of the digital inner mirror, I have a 25 1958 with chips in the windshield and would like acoustic glass if it is replaced.
Honestly yes, I hear an improved audio quality after doing the rear hatch. I asked my wife if she could tell but she just said I was crazydid the sound deadening on the rear hatch improve the audio system sound output
It's not really something I plan to do...I’m asking Tacosupreme to go for it. I hope he does. I found his videos before I found him on this forum, if anyone can do it, it’s him. Me personally? I don’t need the extra deadening.
