What’s the Most Overlooked Upgrade on the LC250?

I think for 1958 owners the didode dynamics fog light kit when on sale is an outstanding upgrade. I like the amber DRL and when it is off they look more stealth in the bumper vs the bulbous factory lights. The output is impressive with noticeably better side of the road coverage. Driving to NEK Vermont today so I will have a chance to test them out tonight! I will grab some pics.

I did not because I don't use the mount as a primary charging method. Due to the amount of time that my phone spends there, with the charging cable either plugged or not, I prefer a lower aperage for the sake of battery health. I do plan to run it to the back of the console, but that is more of a cable management preference as it relates to the console area.

The thing I am really involved in over-engineering out right now is a semi-permanent/ruggedized/OEM-lite extension of the "3rd row" USB-C ports up into the 2nd row. I have a Bison Gear cargo system that closes off the cargo area 99.9% of the time (Girl Scout dad here, so cookie season always makes me open it up). Those rearmost ports are just a wasted resource I intend to fix.

Just an update: I've been using the Offroam Charging Phone Mount for about 4 days and have gained about 10% charge while running Apple Maps and Podcasts on CarPlay during a 30 minute drive while plugged into the front left USB-C "data" port. Not sure if the data port charges faster than one of the other two up front in my 1958, but I'm pleasantly surprised with the results. Thanks again for the rec!

Buy the rubber gasket on Amazon. Wipe the area with alcohol and a rag, removed the adhesive from the rubber strip and apply it. Make sure the orientation is correct and tuck it in. Took me longer to figure out the correct orientation. This is the one I purchased but, there are many.

Why did you have to buy this? Why didn't your Cruiser come with it installed from the factory? Mine had it at purchase and then when the windshield was replaced they left it out. Dealing with that fight now...

You got any pics of it w/ that installed? Based on my most recent lot adventure during my wife’s Sequoia’s warranty work, I highly doubt the factory is only installing it on some LCs.

I do have pics of it installed before the replacement which is the only leverage I have to get them to replace them without charging me.

The simple mods that are cheap but have nice impact

• Center console tray - cheap, simple and very useful
• Cargo hatch light - cheap, conveinent, 5 minute install
• Heritage Toyota center wheel caps if you are keeping the stock wheels - easy install
• Black out IForceMax OEM cover - easy install

I have done several other mods to mine that are not on the simple or cheap side

• Westcott preload collar leveling kit
• Westcott rock sliders
• Auxillary power panel off the underhood jump point
• A Pillar lights
• Underhood engine compartment light

Coming soon mods

• Puddle lights to replace the ones removed when I swapped the running boards for sliders
• victory 4x4 engine cover

Comming later mods

• Some type of steel or aluminum center bumper replacement of that silver plastic piece
• Wider fender flares
• Rock lights
• 12 volt cigarette lighter outlet in cargo area

This hitch slider has been great little mod for me. No more dragging the hitch receiver on steep inclines, and even stopped a car from damaging my bumper because they bumped into the hitch slider first.

After all the conversation around suspension philosophies last week, it had me thinking:

There's a ton of talk about various suspensions and tire size — but what do you think is the most overlooked upgrade on the 250?

It could be a minor cosmetic mod.
It could be something that improves the way it drives.
Or even something you didn't fully appreciate until living with it everyday.

I love mods that punch way above their weight class in terms of how it improves the everyday enjoyment of the rig.

What's the most underrated mod for you all?

I’ve got a 100+ lb lab jumping in and out of my rig (only in the rear and yes I have the seats covered). Last truck I had he destroyed my metal door sills. Learned my lesson and installed some sill guards. They also help with trail grit and rocks from scratching the sills as well.
