TRD performance exhaust installed.

Hey guys, Im sure the dealer will help you out but the muffler P/N has changed to PTR03-60250 (Hardware Kit PTR03-60250-AA). The hardware kit is included with the muffler, taped on to the foam protector that on the hanger. you probably wont see this change across the board until they deplete their stock, however I would assume you can order it.

The P/N changed (this time) because the front donut gasket is now included in the hardware kit (they used to have you reuse the existing).
The P/N will change again in probably 6 moths or so for a new muff outlet/tailpipe inlet flange (obviously the tailpipe P/N will change at that time as well). Glad you like the exhaust, it also fits the Taco (930B).

To be honest at first I was not super into it, but it slowly grew on me and I now actually like it quite a bit and don’t really notice it in any bad ways. I did keep the oem exhaust in case I want to switch back down the road. As of now no plans to do that.

At first it seemed loud since the I find the Land Cruiser to be such a quiet vehicle in general. I liked that it helped drown out the 4cyl sound at lower speeds but sometimes I felt it was too loud.

Over time I have felt that you don’t “hear” it that much and 90%+ of the time you do hear it it sounds good.

Overall I’d say it’s a solid upgrade. Also not sure if it’s the only reason but my mpg increased from 18.7-19. I’m currently at 17k miles and put in the exhaust around 15k, so don’t think it’s breaking in causing it. I only noticed the mpg increase recently (hadn’t looked in a while before that).

I absolutely love it. i have the KO3.'s at 40 psi and with the sports exhaust I think this thing is absolutely perfect. It's the right sound and the right drive characteristics.

Sure. Last thing I’d say is I’d do it again.

Now is it worth $1k to everyone - I guess it depends on what other upgrades you want/need.

I don’t off road often (maybe few times a year) so it was easier for me to chose that vs new wheels, lift, etc.

Got my rig back today with the TRD exhaust installed. It has a clean, utilitarian look, sits a bit higher with more clearance, and tucks in nicely. Adds a deeper tone to the engine, especially at low RPMs, though it’s not a huge change.

Haven’t seen many good side profile shots, so I figured I’d share one.

Did they remove this from their inventory? I had all three parts (center, tail pip, and hardware) in my basket but now only the tail pipe section (PTR03-60243) is on the website.

Sucks because I was about to get it now that I've found out that the LRA tank won't ever be available in California

Update: called a few dealerships. they're saying there's a stop sale on PTR03-60243, and there seems to be confusion between PTR03-60240 and PTR03-60250. so i'll wait and see.

edit: ended up getting a great discount on it from capistrano toyota

edit edit: lmao sike they cancelled the order because those parts can't be shipped.

3rd times a charm: found a place in the bay area that had it. dunno why this is so difficult to acquire.

Just a heads up for everyone, we recently installed the aFe Apollo GT exhaust on our LC 1958. Very similar to the rear piece from the TRD "kit" but less expensive. Only real difference in the sound is at slower speeds and its not at all obnoxious, just slightly more noticeable. Decent change for us for under $300.
