TRD performance exhaust installed.

I purchased a '26 that had this option. I believe it was a port installation. I didn't have a lot of choices on incoming LC's based on the color I wanted and no cool box option, so I decided to grab it. Have to say, it sounds like hot garbage. No comparison on fuel economy to stock exhaust, but this exhaust is not properly tuned for this vehicle. Heavy vibration sitting in idle, vibrates deep in the dash, moaning sounds in every gear before it changes gears. Terrible moaning at highway speeds. Brutal. I'm not opposed to nice sounding exhausts. My other car is a Porsche Macan GTS and it sounds beautiful, but this thing....

My question is to anyone that got a vehicle with this option, did you keep it, or install stock exhaust, or another aftermarket exhaust option? I'm definitely not keeping it.

As far as the MPGs it does not do well in the cold, however the big hit that I experienced was when replaced the stock standard load tires with the off road KO3s which I believe is mostly due to the weight of the tires.

Good to know. Thanks. I would definitely want to hear stock again before doing anything, but have read that some don't love the sound. I'll check out the MagnaFlow Overland. Glad you like the TRD, I was reading your posts about it and it seems to have worked well for you.

Shouldn't be difficult to find someone with a LC and do a swap. iirc from the Ed Martin YT on it, it is a simple install.

But, I mean, it is a 4cyl Turbo, not sure any exhaust is going to sound great with it. Yeah, the Macan GTS exhaust does sound good.

Thanks. Agreed. Wasn’t even really looking for any sound for that reason, just kinda ended up with this one, which is why I was considering going back to stock. Love this truck though.

Nice I'm actually trading my LC on a 2025 Macan GTS so long as they give me a good number. I've had my fun with the LC. I miss fast and sporty.

I love fast and sporty but I hit 100 mph plus quickly every time I hit a freeway, which is multiple times a day. I can only go slow with something that wants to be slow, like the 250. I do fast and sporty on my motorcycles but don’t miss it at all on four wheels.

That's one of the unfortunate things about Toyota, you can't order a vehicle*, you look for one with your priorities and either keep looking for one that doesn't have a bunch of junk added on or that you can live with, same with Lexus. I actually got lucky with my LCLC, but it took months of hunting and a plane trip.

My experience was working with the largest dealer stateside is that they can request colors/trims from Toyota, which might eventually be granted.
The Toyota dealer also can have port installed options/accessories added. Stripper type models with few options are probably going to remain rare, as long as the LC250 is selling well. . Overall, it's definitely not as straightforward as my experience working with US or European car dealers that can get exactly what you want built and on the way to the dealer in a few weeks.

They can request an allotment with certain specs, they may not get it exactly, there will be no time line when you will get it, and it depends on how much of a mover the dealership is. They can see what is on the ship and try to grab it.

Depends on if the sales department cares or has their $&@$ together too.

I like that Ford, BMW, Porsche, etc, you can order what you want, for the most part, and aren’t a slave to the distributors… Like SET (spits on the ground.)

I wouldn't expect a great sound from performance exhaust on a 4 cylinder engine. The very reason why I didn't bother. Sorry you don't have the stock exhaust to put back on.

Anyone know if on the LC the TRD tailpipe PTR03-60243 can be installed onto the stock LC center muffler?
On 3rd Gen Tundra the TRD tailpipe can bolt up to the OE center muffler. My ‘25 Tundra came that way & had nice growl, and was just a bit louder than stock with no drone. Comparing LC TRD system to the OE exhaust appears some sound improvement might come from just removing the big stock tailpipe resonator. Wondering if someone in group had already been a test pilot with tailpipes?.

FWIW regarding TRD LC drone -
Noticed in posted pics here that the revised LC TRD center muffler (PTR03-60250) looks to be a Helmholtz muffler setup - technology used in removing drone. It’s the appendage coming out of the muffler that looks like a dead end exhaust outlet.

Another Exhaust option. Cool it comes w/ 2 exit options. While looking at their site I saw their GX550 has a sweet dual exhaust turn-down option that sits up high. Maybe w/ inquiries they might offer that as an option in the future.
