Just broke a piece during rear dash cam install, please help identifying a part

How long has it been, i might need to give it another go.
2 and a half months.

Just had a look and gave it a good pull, won't budge. But I noticed that there was a significant amount of "sweat" on the cable that I hadn't noticed before, that got me thinking it might be the defroster weakening it?

I'm glad you asked, mine fell off after 2 days with stock double sided tape. I hence removed it and haven't been using it since.
I had to scuff mine up a bit with 600 sandpaper (took 2 attempts) and cleaned really well with alcohol. Finally got it to stick, I used industrial velcro that I got at Home Depot. Wanted the flexibility of being able to detach or position. I'll use a sharpie to color in the white

Here's an idea for a mount.......... if you were to take a piece of metal and form a "clip" that would sandwich the trim panel and allow you to use adhesive to attach the camera to the "clip".

The clips in the pic are used for sewing hems in material, but gives you the idea.

Something like that was next on my list if I hadn't been able to make the install above work. It's sticking good now, so I'm done with it for the time being, other than trying to figure out how to get the 24/7 recording mode working.

i accidentally broke a tab, see the second image.
Found the part number for that piece in Partsouq it is: 8271260E20 and quantity two is required. It splits into halves for install and removal.

I broke mine too and have it held in place with lockwire currently, may order some for later just in case.

Thanks for sharing. Tried to look up that part number but nothing came up for me.
