JBL Stereo

yep, they dont quite line up correctly with the screw holes in the door. but its easy to just add a hole in the plastic bracket
Thank you, super helpful! I don't mind making new holes in them. The nerve-wrecking part for me is popping off door panels on a nearly new car 😵‍💫.

Nah. I’ve popped all doors multiple times to deaden and change speakers. No clips broken. The most annoying bit is the stupid bottom light plug on some of them is a pain while holding the door panel still connected.

That bottom tab is so hard to press and pull. I did break one of the white clips but just ordered a few replacements on Amazon which worked perfectly fine.

Thank you all for the moral support. I've taken off panels on cars I've owned in the past (mainly used cars) so wasn't too concerned. Appreciate all the help.

Installed a set of a set of JL Audio C2-350x (3 1/2) in the dash corners. I was really hoping to fit one in the center dash but it was just too tall. So I replaced the center with a Hertz DCX 87.3 (3 1/2) - it was tight fit but made it work. I put a piece of cardboard between the magnet and headunit so the magnet is not touching the head unit at all times - not sure if this helps/does anything.

I noticed most folks are going with 6x9s for the front doors but Crutchfield is suggesting 6.5's does anyone know why this is? Are 6x9s the size for the front doors with JBL system?
Curious if you still have the other Hertz you used for the center since they come in pairs. Was sad to find out another C2-350 wouldn't fit. I'd be willing to pay half what you paid for the pair and shipping if you still have it.

I definitely still have it and happy to part with it. I’ll send you a DM.

I don't think there is an official bracket to put 6x9s up front, so crutchfield does not recommend them. I personally went with 6x9 over just a 6.5" to squeeze a little bit more out of the low frequencies. It is a tradeoff, 6x9s will be a little louder at a little lower frequencies, and 6.5" will be tighter and more precise.
Chancellor, after reaching speakers and amps, preliminarily, I have speakers narrowed down to Morel MT300 for the dashboard - non component, Morel Hybrid MW6 MKII for the front doors, Morel Tempo Ultra Integra 602 (2 way) for the rear doors, and the beats Encore ENA-2T3 amp.

Since the dashboard speakers dominate the front cab area, I thought it may be worth considering the MT300. The MKII are not 2 channel but the MT300’s are far superior to a two channel speaker. However, the 602’s are 2 channel for the rear. From what I’ve read, a two way speaker is recommended in the rear. All of the speakers are 90+ dB. The dashboard speakers are 6 ohm and the door speakers are 4 ohm.

Based on reading your feedback, I don’t know if the Morel tweeters are the best possible option. Should I stick with a 2 way in the dashboard? Thoughts?

I’ll do a full write-up when I have the time.

  • Deadened all doors
  • PAC Ampro with SPDIF adapter for clean audio
  • HELIX DSP SIX/Amp
  • Infinity Kappa 693C 6"x9" Components in the front with Infinity Kappa 303S mids in the dash
  • Infinity Kappa 603CF in the rear
  • Replaced the sub with a JL Audio 8W1v3-4
Finding a spot for the amp was challenging. I ended up cutting into the storage compartment behind the rear seat. It costs about $300 to replace the part, so I took the risk, and it worked out.
