Received and installed the painted bumper panels today, thanks to MSLCFE (Noel Pineda) for selling and sending them out.
They do match, sun and shadows in the pic's show it off a bit, but in person they do match.

Looks nice with the painted front corner pieces. You should get the full rear bumper painted same as well (to get the rear corner pieces painted too). That will complete it and give it a consistent look for all corners.

Got OEM skids installed this morning.

I love the thick rubber (“Jounce Bumper” ) barrier they include to pad the differential housing.

Had to buy something on Amazon prime days - so put some pedal covers on and bought a small craftsman portable air compressor to keep in back.

In preparation for an upcoming long road trip, a couple simple comfort items for my 1958:

Padded arm support for my preferred 9 o’clock-on-the-wheel hand position.

Knee pads to keep my bony knees from bouncing against the hard plastic when driving rough roads.

Mounted with sticky back Velcro. (And when I tested removing the Velcro strips, they came off without leaving a mark.)

I've been hunting around for any sort of cushioned wrap or anything to put on that arm rest and/or the top of the door there. Closest I've gotten is a dodgey looking black leather mod you can sticky onto the top of the door on Aliexpress....but what you did looks decent too!

I've been pretty happy with the one in my photo. It has a nice cushion, and the height when adjusted to its highest setting ends up being about right. I did modify the plastic base to be a better fit, by trimming it to the proper contour. I did try one like you describe that sticks on top of the door first but didn't really like it.

Edited to add:
I did not use the adhesive pad that came with the arm rest. I used "industrial strength Velcro tape" on both the base as well as on the cushion side against the door. That combination holds it in place quite securely.

Some new mods:
-cargo lights from obisan3d. I love them, truly lights up the cargo space thoroughly, and the fitment of the panel is perfect, looks absolutely OEM. Kudos obisan3d!
- grill running lights, I don’t remember who makes them but if anybody cares I can search through emails and figure it out. They’re definitely a different color amber than my light bar and fog lights but I personally like the contrast. They also attach to the front of the grill rather than behind, so they stick out about half an inch but again, I don’t care. I can see where others would prefer it behind the grill. Anyway, that’s it for now, still waiting on roof rack and fog light upgrade.

Looks good! Is the ladder hinged at the top or something? Trying to figure out how you’d open the glass hatch or even liftgate altogether.
