.I had to buy a borescope to look down into the abyss to find it. Then I taped a magnet to the end of the bore scope and was able to retrieve it.

I wasn’t sure where to put this. But since I screwed up Miss Daisy, I’m putting it here, claiming/owning what I so foolishly did.
The other day, my gravely Pro Turn 152 broke down at the bottom of the hill. I hadn’t used it in a couple of months since picking it up from the gravely dealer an hour away. Usually, I do all the maintenance work on it myself, but I just decided at 70, I was gonna pay the dealer to do it since they had good reviews. Big mistake. They made multiple mistakes which I wont go in to here.
I was going to go rent a U-Haul trailer, and use a come along to pull the mower up onto the trailer, but there were no trailers available that would do a suitable job within 60 miles, at least according to the U-Haul website.
My GF’s Mule wouldn’t pull it up the hill, so I broke out the big guns. So I drove Miss Daisy down the hill and pulled in front of the mower, then broke out my Yankum ropes Recovery Kit, and hook things up. I set both hydraulic pumps in ‘neutral’ so that the rear wheels would ‘free wheel’, put Miss Daisy in 4 low, with center and rear differential locked, and proceeded to pull/drag the mower up the hill.
About a few feet up, the rear wheels quit free wheeling and locked up, so I checked and the hydraulic pumps were still set for them to free wheel. Oh well. I continued to drag it to the top of the driveway and when going through a gate, despite thousands of dollars worth of collision avoidance software, I managed to tap the latch on the gate, scarring Miss Daisy’s fender
. I was/am sick to my stomach.
Does anyone know if this calls for a fender repaint, or can a skilled paint guy fix it with touch up paint. My goal is to make it as perfect as possible.

use your nail and gently feel the scratch. If you you don’t feel a groove then it’s just the clear coat. I always used Scratch Doctor with good results. Use a lot of elbow grease.

@ultane this is what I was getting at ^^
If it is grooved, but still blue paint visible, a wet sand followed by a good polish to spread the coat works wonders. A professional can do it to where you’d be hard pressed to see it was ever damaged.

I’m not sure. It does look like it penetrated the entire layer of blue.. there’s white (?) paint exposed… (?)

It’s grooved, but it looks like white paint is underneath the blue..(?)
This too shall pass (a saying that my late dad loved to say). If it was my boat, I would easily fix it.. But MIss Daisy deserves the best care she can get. I’ll start making plans to get her to a body shop, probably one of the dealers that I have used.

There is a noticeable groove. I am pretty sure it’s going to have to have professional help. Since Miss Daisy will go to my daughter when I make a celestial discharge, I will have it properly fixed. It may be touch up paint, very fine sanding and polishing it afterwards..
Your good. I was worried reading your story that the zero-turn might have bungeed into the back of that bulldog target on your license plate. See - coulda been much worse.

Hi. It's very easy to check the depth of a scratch and see if it can be removed by polishing with special products. Wet the area with water; if the scratch isn't visible under the water, it's just the lacquer that's damaged. If it is visible, the scratch is deep and can't be removed with mechanical polishing.
Yea. It’s too deep. It’s not going to buff out…

I installed rear hatch lights switch on my LC LC yesterday.
Used the switch suggested by EOD Guy, added ground wire and traced both hot wires from two LEDs to the place where they are joined together. Cut the hot wire and run both ends back to the switch.
Must have mod in my opinion.

If you do get fixed by a pro. Might want to look into getting Miss Daisy wrapped with XPEL PPF. I have almost the entire LC wrapped except for the roof. I will admit its pricey but totally worth the investment.There is a noticeable groove. I am pretty sure it’s going to have to have professional help. The hood, and a few other areas already are. It is definitely high on the to do list for after the repair.
