Hi LC fans. Does anyone have the same issue as I have on the inner door seal at my 2024 (6000 miles only) LC 250. I was chocked to see that after 6000 miles the seal is split in half. I went to my Toyota dealer and it took one hour and 3 guys "researching" it to me being told, this was normal tear and wear. Excuse me? This is a Toyota.........
Seals should not just break and split after 6K miles. I have have had many, many cars in my life with mileages from 10K to 100K and never have I seen a seal in a condition like this in my automotive life. The seal, to my humble opinion, is too thin, and not resistent to rubbing of a person getting in and out off the car. It's a product failure and it should be normal warrantee. What do you guys and girls have to say about this? Did it happen with your LC250 as well and how did your dealer handle it?

There are several posts concerning this subject and the results have been similar, many have stated the service adviser said it was a wear item and replaced at the owners expense or covered under warranty.

I would elevate that opinion to corporate. Hopefully your complaint is cumulative as I recall seeing various instances of this problem in this forum last year. Good luck!

Well, so much for Toyota "care". If you think about it, I might have to replace this seal every 5K Miles. That's nuts!

Which door is this on? So far, I’ve only seen posts like these on the driver’s door. Makes me wonder if people are accidentally rubbing against the seal when getting in and out.

Driver side door. I don't understand what it is you mean. I had many many different cars. You always rub against it. Never i had problem like this. And certainly not after 6K miles. And it seems I am not the only one

If it were any other location, I'd say the dealer would replace under warranty, but due to location near hip and leg it is obvious that rubbing when getting in and out is the cause. A thicker seal would just take longer for that to occur. If your ride around with your window down allot and arm on that seal the same thing will happen, this is 250 or Toyota specific, the door seal is just easier to rub, especially when setup to fully retract the seat for exiting.

No issues on ours, we use the step and grab handles to avoid this and the premature wear to the side bolsters on the seats as well that people that have had the issue also seem to have or develop soon after.

I'd say you need to adjust your entry and exit habits and or adjust your settings to not retract the seat on exit, unless you want to replace this item over and over.
