This is their connection diagram. (The 60L auxiliary fuel tank for LC250 is identical to that for X700H in terms of accessories and connection methods, except for the tank body and capacity.)I'm thinking but don't know, the syphon pump is nothing more than a one-way check valve. In my thought process..... the aux tank would syphon fuel into the main tank and the physical level of the liquid would be about even in both tanks (maybe slightly higher in the main tank) therefore the gauge level and DTE would constantly be updating until the aux tank can no longer transfer fuel into the main. This is a SWAG as I've not seen how everything hooks up.
It does appear somewhat "neurotic" in its initial state, jumping back and forth repeatedly.I have the aux tank and am only on first tank, but I think I’m in the weirdness zone right now. It keeps bouncing back and forth between full and somewhere between 165-190 MTE. It’s maybe bounced back and forth 3-4 times in the past two days. I’m hoping that at some threshold the bouncing stops so that going forward I can always know that if it shows less than X then I don’t have any aux reserve. Another option is to start tracking “Trip A” each time I refuel but that seems a bit annoying (major first world problem I know) too.
Welcome to the asylum. This is their connection diagram. (The 60L auxiliary fuel tank for LC250 is identical to that for X700H in terms of accessories and connection methods, except for the tank body and capacity.)
Doe the DTE increase after multiple tanks? Or does it tend to stick it right around 300 miles? It does appear somewhat "neurotic" in its initial state, jumping back and forth repeatedly.
Both the main and auxiliary tanks are full. The engine draws fuel from the main tank, but because of the siphon system, the aux tank is continuously feeding fuel back into it.
A simple way to think about it: you're basically driving while the tank is being “refilled” at the same time.
So what happens is:
The main tank level starts to drop, then gets topped back up by the aux tank. This causes the float to move up and down slightly, and the gauge may drop a bit and then rise again — usually for a couple of cycles (2–3 times).
MTE (range) will also fluctuate during this phase, since the ECU is still calculating based on the stock tank logic and has no idea there's extra capacity.
Once the auxiliary tank is empty, everything goes back to normal:
Fuel level drops steadily
Gauge becomes stable
MTE stabilizes
Questions for those running either:FK 29-gal Main Tank vs FK 16-gal Aux Tank – Gauge, DTE, and Install Questions
I’m trying to decide between the FK 29-gallon replacement main tank and the FK ~16-gallon auxiliary tank (non–spare delete), and wanted to sanity check my understanding with those who have installed either.
My understanding:
29-gallon main tank
- Uses OEM pump/sender
- Gauge should behave mostly like stock, but may stay “full” longer and be less linear
- Low fuel light likely comes on early (with ~4–5 gallons still in the tank)
- DTE behaves mostly normal but not perfectly calibrated to the larger capacity
- Install seems more straightforward (drop/replace tank, transfer components)
16-gallon aux tank
- Main tank behaves normally at first, then aux transfers after a threshold
- Gauge drops normally, then may level off or even bump slightly during transfer
- DTE may increase mid-drive when fuel transfers
- Low fuel light behavior remains consistent with stock (since ECU only sees main tank)
- Install appears more involved (plumbing, siphon system, pump mod, routing, etc.)
Where I’m struggling:
- It seems like the aux setup has “weirdness” at the top/middle of the tank, while the main tank has “weirdness” at the bottom (early fuel light / reserve).
- I’m trying to decide which is less annoying long-term.
Questions for those running either:
- How accurate/trustworthy is your gauge and DTE in real-world use?
- On the 29-gal tank, how early does the low fuel light actually come on, and how do you manage it?
- On the aux setup, is the transfer behavior noticeable or just something you stop thinking about?
- Any install headaches or things you’d do differently?
i was about to ask how people have been paying as they currently cannot accept paypal..Woo Hoo! Got a call from the shipping company, 12gal Aux tank is scheduled delivery for tomorrow!
Oredered: 24 Jan 26
Scheduled delivery: 3 Mar 26.
For anyone ordering directly from FX/Alibaba, They do not use a conventional tracking number (at least what the carriers in the US use), They use a "Card Delivery Code" (tracking number) this cause great confusion, when I called the shipping company and tried to schedule my delivery, as they had no record of my phone number or order number. After contacting Alibaba, they provided the Card delivery code and I called the shipper back and convinced them to please try the weird code (their words, not mine) and what do you know my order popped right up.
If anyone orders a tank, it was very beneficial setting up an account with Alibaba, as that was the only reason I got an email about the shipping company.
It's been a long wait.......
I bet they'll take Alipayi was about to ask how people have been paying as they currently cannot accept paypal..
FX or FK? Yeah it was definitely clear while trying to track that it wasn't FedEx or UPS! lolWoo Hoo! Got a call from the shipping company, 12gal Aux tank is scheduled delivery for tomorrow!

ya... i didnt wanna be the first one to do that.. if several people have at this point id consider itI bet they'll take Alipay![]()
Yeah the Alipay was fine, FK is a legit business not a scam lolya... i didnt wanna be the first one to do that.. if several people have at this point id consider it
They took PayPal for my payment. It was convoluted…….. FK chat, explained I wanted the 12 gal tank vs the 16, they then sent me a link to Alibaba site for the 12 gal aux tank, I placed the order, paid on the link, confirmed the order, paid with PP IF I remember the details correctly. I posted some where on the exact process (when it was still fresh in my mind)i was about to ask how people have been paying as they currently cannot accept paypal..
I got the email from the Alibaba chat person.FX or FK? Yeah it was definitely clear while trying to track that it wasn't FedEx or UPS! lol
BEWARE! I forgot to mention this in my review of the 29 gal main tank, nor does it show it on the FK video, but the forward most oem fuel line ( not in the rear by the sender/pump, but literally forward end of tank on the top) will have pressure in it! I think I got maybe half a mason jar worth of fuel out it?12 Gal tank was delivered, well packaged and undamaged. The wooden crate was well built and very light for it's size. I easily picked it up and set it on the dolly. Took a hammer and prybar to de-crate it. Contents matched the bill of lading. Absolutely no written instructions, nice sticker tho'. One bright point of this process so far, No customs paperwork!
Now I just need to wait till the fuel level drops to "zero" miles/ past empty, in the LC and a sunny, calm day to drop the OEM tank, remove the pump/sending unit and make the fuel pump cage modification. I've obtained a new tank "O" ring for the reinstall of the fuel pump/sending unit.
My plan is to drop the OEM tank completely, see if I can modify the GX 550 tank with a carefully applied heat gun and if that's successful, install the GX tank vs the LC tank. It's probably going to be a multi day process as I'm not 100% sure the GX tank's fittings are the same orientation as the LC (I know at least one of then isn't from my previous attempt at the GX tank swap). Hopefully the 12gal hoses/parts will be long enough to route to the GX's fittings as the actual fittings/quick connects are identical.
It’s gonna go great! Have fun and can’t wait to hear how it turns out.12 Gal tank was delivered, well packaged and undamaged. The wooden crate was well built and very light for it's size. Please be aware of high-pressure fuel in the fuel supply line (the line feeding the engine, as you already know), and take appropriate precautions when working on it.12 Gal tank was delivered, well packaged and undamaged.
