Rear recovery point options?

Hi there, new member here. Just came to chime in that yesterday I was just involved in nearly an identical accident on my brand new LC250. I’m not sure if there is any frame damage. The rear recovery point saved my vehicle. Thanks for everyone’s feedback on this thread. @ptahkeem is there a reason you decided to stick with the OEM bumper? Was thinning about using this as an opportunity to upgrade to a dissent rear bumper.
Hey NC! I was just looking to get the car back ASAP and tbh won’t be off-roading any crazy trails. The stock bumper cover was easy enough for my repair shop to get and I was able to get my LC back on the road in three weeks only because the rear cross traffic radar was on back order and took a week to come in. I figure the stock bumper is a good safe option and if I ever convert the LC into a more dedicated off-roader I’ll consider an offroad bumper down the line. For now though I am ok with stock. I also didn’t want to pay out of pocket for the additional increase in cost.

It’s kinda crazy how that tie down point deforming absorbs so much energy right??? Glad you are ok. Dont forget to go after their insurance for diminished value for your vehicle.

Makes sense, thanks! Were you also surprised by the amount of rust underneath the rear recovery point?

Yes… especially for a vehicle that has been in SoCal, experienced no salted roads, and very few rain events… Hoping that the rest of the frame is ok… I was surprised to see that kind of surface rust but I’m hoping that it’s just that, surface rust…

Glad you weren’t injured. Welcome to the asylum NC350X.
