Lift & leveling kit options

This company posted that they have a 1.5" spring kit coming to accomodate increased weight from "overlanding" builds. This is what I'm going to end up going with as I don't want to lift much from stock, but also recognize that bumpers/bits add weight. I messaged them to ask when they anticipate making it available.
Just heard from them as I was typing it up, they're available now.

Just an FYI, All Dogs is a great company. They started mainly serving the Nissan community but have branched out into Toyota. I ran their Koni kit on my Frontier and it was great. They aren't joking when they say they are anti-spacer lift.

That's the kit I went for. I have it sitting here waiting to install but I'm waiting until I install the bumper and winch.

Can't wait to hear how this goes. I've got some Nissan friends with a bunch of All Dogs gear and they swear by it. I've been thinking about doing the All Dogs in the front and the Dobinsons C59-885V springs in the back. Both about 1.5" of lift and the Dobinsons is a progressive rather than a dual rate spring.

In case anyone is interested, I’ve installed the All Dogs springs. Ride great and gives just enough lift. Overall I gained exactly what they said - 1.5” in the front and back.

275/70/18. I went with the Nitto SL here. With the downgrade from 20" wheels to these, overall wheel+tire combo is exact same weight. All in all, rides very nice.

I thought so, I have the same setup, and will be installing an Eibach Kit soon. Glad to see they don’t look too small.

You did just the front correct?

I did front and rear. But you are right - it is more level than stock rake. Back is about 1/3" higher than the front...floor to fender. Its funny, when I measured shortly after install, it was exactly 1.5" on both from stock. I did put the slightly bigger tires on, so that makes a difference too. I guess it settled a bit after driving some. Now, I cannot find my pre-install measurements...but currently I am 38 1/2" in rear and just over 38" in the front. I'm almost positive pre anything, I was 37" in the rear. So springs in the rear giving a little under 1.5" cause tire size is helping slightly. In the front, I think the lift is bigger, causing it to be almost level...which I am actually ok with.

This looks great and is a nice option when looking for some additional clearance but not needing heavy duty off road suspension.

How would you compare ride to stock?

I'd say ride feels exactly the same. Maybe a little bit better, but that is probably due to going from 20" wheels with 265s to 18" with 275s, so more tire to absorb bumps. But rides great. I'd definitely recommend for a budget lift that is not a spacer lift.

I may go this route instead of a spacers.I’m saying good bye finally to the 20” wheels and having the 17” method 705 with Terra G3 285/70/17 installed next Thursday morning.

Is it 1.5" in the front and 1.5" in the back too or just the front? Can you elaborate on the ride? On IH8 All Dogs posted that the spring rate on the front is higher than stock. I'd prefer just a bit stiffer rate myself to counteract the body roll. Awesome looking truck BTW. I ended up with 20" wheels and still kicking myself.

Well it’s advertised as 1.5” in both front and rear and that’s what I had initially. After settling, I got about that in thr rear but closer to 2” in the front.

Ride feels exactly the same as stock to me. I don’t have any extra weight added. I do have more tire than the 20” wheels gave so maybe that offsets any additional stiffness? I think they feel great on the road. Haven’t taken them off road yet.

They are longer. Here is a photo of the two next to each other. I didn’t get the whole spring in the picture but they are next to each other standing on the floor.

I am not sure on spring rate honestly, but they are definitely coiled more. Oem strut (with new spring next to it:

Just FYI for anyone who may not know installing longer springs on OEM shocks lengths (front and rear) trades lift for droop travel.

By the looks I’d be worried about coil bind at full compressions as well on the front, something worth checking at least.
