Lifetime Average MPG

Don’t see that there’s an existing discussion on this. I just hit one year since purchasing my ‘25 base model. No modifications. These are my stats, mostly driving in SC and NC:

Average MPG: 21.6
Mileage: 14,300

How are others doing?

I have yet to see a sustained 22 mpg on the highway. Terrible. Hell, if they had a 30 gallon tank, I would care if I got 7 mpg.

The “hybrid” thing is a gimmick. I know it’s for “power” but come on… be honest Toyota, the LC250 is just not that good. Give us a non-hybrid and a large fuel tank and we”d be happy!

Only 1,000 miles so far, mainly suburban driving, achieved 18.8 mpg, driving very gently!

Miss Daisy didn’t do too good on fuel economy until several thousand miles into ownership. I don’t know why. Good luck.

That makes sense. It reports 233 miles every time I fill up. The same number 233 every time.

A good diagnostician should be able to figure that out.

I think the post original ask is your lifetime average MPG, Which for this thread would be the trip average and never reset it from when you buy the vehicle. When you trade it or sell it at 80 to 250k you can say my LC got ??? MPG

22.8 as the high in the summer. Down to 22.5 from the winter cold. 27K miles.

I've had my LC LC (non-premium) with 17" wheels (BFG K03;s factory size) and a full length Sherpa Atlas rack for 2000 miles and average 15 mpg no matter what I do. I barely touch the gas, I coast when I can, I use cruise control and don't go too far over the posted limit. The dealer says "wait til 5000 miles", but I bet when I hit that they'll say "wait til 10000"

Man, I haven’t seen an avg fuel cost that low in this state (CA) since like the 80’.

I’m 23k miles into this journey and avg 19.5, even with our state mandated winter/summer fuel mixtures and a lead foot.

it is endless = no end, no apple-to-apple comparison (different: styles of driving, equipments, terrain,…..you name it)
Just live with your own LC.

Yea, I seam to remember things getting better somewhere after 5,000 miles or so.

I have been driving my LC 250 for about a year and a half now and my fuel efficiency has been outstanding. By understanding how the hybrid works and driving in a very focused and intentional manor, the vehicle is capable of delivering consistent mileage in the upper 25+ MPG.

Below is a screen shot of a recent trip around town on mixed highway and suburban roads of 31.2 MPG. Others in this forum have had similar results and even Motor Trend is starting to figure it out although the article's emphasis is more on driving experience versus fuel efficiency.

Just offering encouragement that very good gas mileage is possible if it is important to you.

I think my lifetime average is hovering under 14mpg. Heavy tires, roof rack, lots of city driving (I live inner city), and most impactful, a lead foot.

Yea, I seam to remember things getting better somewhere after 5,000 miles or so.

Same thing seemed to happen to me. I reset my gauges so have no idea of what my lifetime average is but mileage seemed to improve after a couple thousand miles (other changes too)

Mixed traffic conditions, no mtn passes just through various LA basin freeways, hwy cruising at 72mph when I could. Normal mode. Still only have 1600 miles on it, so I expect to do better. In CA I’m stuck with 10% ethanol (I use Premium) so if you could get ethanol free gas that’s another 3% possible

We are stuck in Indiana with only a few stations in the State that carry 90 octane ethanol free gas, there are allot more that carry 89, our premium gas is 93 with 10 percent ethanol, To make any difference in fuel mileage we would need 93 ethanol free. I know Buckyees in other states has 91 ethanol free and I use that when traveling. FYI still at 22.5 average with 23k

That’s amazing! I used Shell E-10 93 octane while in California on our redwood trip a few months ago, but never saw more than 27+ mpg.

2281 miles on the OD. Mileage varies but is improving over time. Worst 16 MPG Best 26 MPG.
