🛠️ What Have You Done To Your LC250 Today?

Under coating of my LC today, I know this is a topic that people love certain types of undercoating, and hate other types. Here are my thoughts; I had Waxoyl undercoating done today. Why Waxoyl, I looked at other types, l liked the look after it was installed and most of all, read all the reviews of the installer I picked, all 5 out of 5 for years, the owner does the work. This guy sent me step by step videos and photos of my LC being done. Removal of skid plates, wheel well skirts, plastic covers and more, then A full cleaning with degreaser and then dried , followed by the application, 25 photos and videos. So that’s why I picked Waxoyl, the finish looks great and done with care, like it was his car. Before and after photo below, zoom in.

i had an MGB roadster many years ago- those liked to rust. I religiously washed every nook and cranny top and bottom to try avoiding it. I got mine used and had it a decade, and it never rusted. I found out why- when landed at port, mine had a Waxoyl treatment where they drilled and sprayed the product into the rockers and all the other inaccessible places where salt and water could work their way in.

Swapped out the Premium trim 20” for the TRD Tacoma wheels wearing the Open Country AT3 EV’s.

So far so good- relatively quiet for all terrains, and going down to 18” seems to have smoothed out the ride a touch. I’ll keep the 20’s for spring/summer should fuel mileage suffer. It may be a wash, as the new wheel & tire combo is about 7lbs lighter per corner. Now if I can only do something about the weight of the driver 🤔

The installer re-mounted centre caps from the 20’s on the new wheels. I’ll have to pull each corner to install the black & bronze heritage logo centre caps I have.

I have those tires on my list for when I swap out the winter Hakkas I'm putting on the rig this morning. I'm torn between those and the KO3's for my spring swap out so I'll be interested in seeing more reviews on these over the next few months. The weight difference between these tires and the regular AT3's is significant.

Added LC puddle lights to all 4 doors. Install took less than a minute.

Edit: Also blacked out the Toyota logo and got a LC plate frame.
Where did you get these and how is the install? I’d love to have these!

35” spare tire and Rotopax fuel on Dirtcom hitch-mount carrier. Behind the tire, FrontRunner drop-down tail gate table.
Instead of tailgate table, you can have another Rotopax water or fuel. I don’t need those because I have them on the side molle panels
Do you have a side shot with the hitch-mount carrier? Enough clearance for glass to open?

I took off the OEM tires and put on Hakkapalita 275/70/18 winter tires on it. Lost about 2 mpg in initial driving and definitely a more firm ride, which I expected with an E load. Tires at 39 psi.

100% clearance for glass window opened. The space between carrier and hatch back is enough to have another Rotopax fuel/water tank. (Recently, just decided to have FrontRunner folding table instead of Rotopax). I posted all details about it a year ago…
Anyway, attached are few photos of mine and others I found for you…

Awesome, I appreciate the quick reply.

I will say that having the reversed shoulder flag patch on the left side of the vehicle makes my E-7 alarms go off. You've basically relegated that Rotopax to the right side of the vehicle to stay in regs...

In the Navy, being called an E7 is the epitome of insults.
I originally wrote SNCO, but the fact I was correcting a water-tank on a vehicle (and it's fairly sarcastic), part of the joke was it was something an E7 would say. So I'm glad it worked as intended.

Aware of it…that water Rotopax is always on passenger side. In this photo I had it quick just for the setup demo.
I always have flag stickers on my rigs..so you know how to place it right.
You got good eyes ;)

Those aren’t good eyes, just trauma-trained eyes lmao. It’s a subconscious thing that also keeps us from fully enjoying any military themed show or movie. He and I joke about the E7 thing, but there’s also a deep-rooted part of our brain on defense of something heavy being chucked at our heads, or an incoming PP tap for using the paygrade as a title for anything above a 6 lol. bkral is indeed enjoying some PTSD with me as he reads this.

TRICARE covered my vasectomy but I think all the nut shots were already effective before the procedure.
