Got a magnetic Mount for my Starlink, then I’ll mount it to the side of my Fridge. Since it’s on a slide, when i slide out the fridge, the Starlink will be at the side of it and can articulate with a 360 arm without removing from the magnetic base.

I change the oil and filter as close to 5,000 miles as possible. But for a recent trip to Boston, I changed it slightly early, at about 4600 miles. On another oil change, I was at about 5300 miles. Just the way the chips fell.

The oil is easily good for 10,000 miles, but on a recent video by The Motor Oil Geek, he mentioned that it’s not the oil going bad that destroyed the 6.2 L Chevy engines, but particulates in the oil that cannot be filtered out.

No. I haven’t. There was only one that concerned me in regards to gasoline in the oil. But it settled back down on the next analysis.

Happy to post them, but figured it would just be boring to the non OCD motor oil geeks here.

Today I installed the hood strut kit from Rival. Overall, the kit appears to be well made: all brackets are secured with two screws, and the struts are German-made, which is reassuring. However, since I am not a specialist in struts, only long-term use will confirm their durability.

Regarding the advertised 30-minute installation time, this is unrealistic. You will need to remove several clips, which are not easy to extract, even when using a clip-removal tool kit. A cable retainer clip was particularly difficult to remove and, after about 15 minutes of effort, it ended up being damaged. Fortunately, the Rival kit includes replacement clips for the sound-deadening mat,, but offering this cable retaining clip too would be a nice addition.

You will have to fiddle when installing the hood brackets nut plate, one was very easy, the second took more time because i'm not ambidextrous. Personal installation time was 2hrs.

General view RHS, European trim, 2,8l diesel non hybrid. Nice long stroke strut.

Detailed view RHS, the cable retainer clip (rear side) is in poor condition, and the support bracket position could be improved as it sits too close to the wiring harness. For those with a keen eye, the brownish spray marks are from a complete Dinitrol treatment applied to the chassis and bodywork.

NYTOP recovery tow hitch added.

I really want that NYTOP recovery point to add to my hitch skid/recovery ring but I just can't wrap my head around that pricer. Waiting to see who else may come out with one as another option. Nice set up.

What hitch pin are you using

I'm using this Bullet Proof Hitch on my DV8 Htch Skid and these 3/4" D-Ring Shackles, as it is 5/8,which is more robust that OEM.

Thanks, I use the DV8 hitch mount skid with D ring for my recovery point. I do believe there is value to having the additional recovery point on the back that is useful, which the NYTOP's solves. Just looking for an alternative that I believe is solid and I've not seen one yet.

I added the OEM Toyota one this weekend. It just requires a little trim to fit.

The issue I've found with changing the blinker fluid in the past is having to start disassembling from the rear bumper forward just to get to the blinker reservoir.
And that blinker fluid you found is not certified for use in full time 4 wheel drive vehicles.
