How do you get a cable into the pax or driver side fuse box? I have the cable through the firewall but can't figure out how to get it into the fuse box.
On the Dvr's side, under hood fuse box on the forward R/H (closest to the engine) there is a rather large wire loom that enters the box. There is plenty of room to slip a few more wires into the split in the loom and pass them through into the interior of the fuse box (yellow wire in my pic).
What bolt is this grounded to?
I am installing a GMRS radio in my LC250. I will use a Beat-sonic EAS-C02 power seat cable harness. This allows you to draw 12v power off the passenger seat cable and run the radio. I plan to run the antenna wire into the engine bay and mount on a ditch light. My GMRS radio is run from the microphone will all controls on the mic. No screen or controls on the radio box itself. Work in progress. will install this weekend.
There is a toyota dealer on youtube who uses an Icom 2730 ham radio in his rig. has the MARS conversion so he can talk on GMRS as well as ham bands. there is a nice video

I’d like to run GMRS and maybe 2m/70cm a well. The antenna issue is what I’m struggling with. I like the idea of having the antenna near the front of the vehicle and was wondering if anyone has configured any sort of cowl mount. There’s a company in AU that does one, but I haven’t seen it in the U.S. I’m wondering if I could use something like this (or if any of you have: NYTOP | 2024-Current Toyota Land Cruiser Ditch Light Mount
Also could do a rack mount or a roof mount, but want to consider other options first.
For VHF/UHF (2m, 70cm and GMRS) which are line-of-sight frequencies, you want the antenna to be as high as possible and with unobstructed "view" all around. Hence roof is the location of choice. Bumper or hood location are OK for HF which does not depend on line-of-sight and general are much longer antennas extending well above the vehicle height.
While not a GMRS antenna........ I Fab'd a mounting base for the folding mount for my cell phone amp antenna. I made a solid alum spacer/block that fits between the inner and outer roof rack frame. The coax is panel bonded to the sheet metal in the hinge area of the hatch and enters the interior via the existing accordion boot. The coax flexes/bends through the range of motion vs swivel with contacts. Something similar could be Fab'd for a GMRS base.

Everyone, I started this thread, two years out and I have done NOTHING 
yet to install a radio in my 2024 LC. However I have a rear bumper on the way finally from Dissent Off Road, in CA. I am really now looking forward to this, to mount some type of hf antenna on the bumper. Also the gentleman who installed the NMO near the hood, that is one of the cleanest setup's I have ever seen. On my 87 4Runner, (my avatar) I had a similar setup, not as clean looking, with an L bracket mounted under the hood, with the NMO antenna, with an Yaesu FT470 HT 2/440 mounted in a cup holder, 5 speed manual trans. And it worked great. Rambling, but when sunspot 23 I believe 1992-1994 was hot, in the upper 200's to low 3's I put the 25 watt Radio Shack mobile 10 meter in as well, and got the DXCC mobile with a Wilson Mag Mount CB antenna trimmed slightly for 10... smack dab on the middle of the roof.. Cannot believe I put all of this into the 4Runner, and nothing yet in the LC..

The DV8 Console Molle Panels make great mounting locations for radios with remote control heads. I running a Yaesu FTM500 2m/440 mobile and a Motorola XPR550 with antennas mounted to the roof rack and at the front fender using the M&R Ditch light brackets on my 2025 LCLC.
