Brakes SQUEAL while backing

Toyota eventually fixed my break squeal problem and what a relief. I still get squeamish backing out of my driveway even though the squeal is long gone.

My dealer said that I have aftermarket and oversized wheels which void this tsb… is there such a thing?
i have aftermarket 33’s and they just finished the tsb on mine today lol. Not sure if there’s any legitimacy to aftermarket wheels voiding the tsb.

I have a new 2025 Land Cruiser. After the first couple of days every time I backup and apply the brakes they SQUEAL. Took it to the dealership and they conducted a "safety Inspection" but said Toyota was aware but offered NO solution. You would think that with the money invested in a new vehicle they could fix a brake squeal. Any suggestions???????
Toyota has a TSB to fix the squeaking brake. I just brought mine to the dealer. They inspected, validated the issue, and replaced the required parts. After the fix, no more squeaking brake.

I've got 2,600 miles on my 5 month old LC and just experienced brake squeal when reversing for the first time today. Weird that it happened for the first time today.

I highly doubt the wheel/tire combo has any impact to the brake issue. I would call Toyota and see if you can get some traction. The issue though is since you do the modification, they could argue it causes additional heat to build up on the brakes, etc. You may also try another dealership.

I had my brakes replaced and have had no issues with the squeal.

Parts ordered in August from one dealership. Waited over a month and the parts never came in. Went to a different dealership last week and they ordered the parts on Thursday and I am still waiting. According to my Service Advisor, Toyota only allows dealerships to order 1 kit per week per dealership due to parts shortages. IMO totally unacceptable. Toyota Corporate is hugely unhelpful and frankly negligent at this point.

I can't speak to the 1 kit per week rule. Personally, I would claim BS. The parts may be on back order, but to manage the backorder you do not say "do not enter an order". You place the order and wait for it to be filled.

I went in a month ago for my 15k mile service and "recommended" alignment. It took a little bit of complaining and videos of the issue and emails to come Toyota executives, etc. The dealer ordered the parts and told me that they were on backorder. The associate had no idea when they would arrive, and 2 days later (on a Saturday) the parts came in.

I will add that the new brakes have stopped the squeal.

Mine didn't start squealing until I had around 1500-1600 miles on it. I wonder if this is a permanent fix or just temporary? My brake parts are on order also.

I have almost 1000 miles on the new brakes and have not heard any noise except for this morning when I had to slam on the brakes as a pedestrian darted out between cars (however this was not in reverse and not when I just started the Toyota). I had seen a few people say that the new pads reduced the issue, but was not a complete fix. When I am backing out of the driveway I have been pretty please and hopeful it is a final solution.

133 miles on my LC. Got the 1st squeel today backing out with a cut to the right....

It's kind of weird it doesn't always do it, but it seems to get worse over time. I just hope doing the TSB isn't just a temporary fix. I remember something similar years ago on my 2000 Tundra but I had slews of brake issues with that truck, but that was mainly the only problem.

Hi folks, I just want to add that after over a year of waiting, the local dealership (Orange, CA) got the parts in to service the brakes. It's been only a day, but the squeal is gone (it was always squealing prior). Hopefully this is a permanent fix, though I'll update the group should the squealing return. Fingers crossed...
