1958 vs LCLC off-road software (A-TRAC(?) vs MTS)

So, is the consensus that it would be too much tear up to get the MTS working in a 1958
That's what I've taken away from it at this point. It's a money pit to chase after the feature. After you get the button and the computer, who knows what will follow that and you wind up chasing it one purchase after another. The 4wd in my 1958 is already superb so I'm not going to worry about it. It would've been a no brainer if just putting the button in was all that was needed though.

It was definitely a journey, but at least as a community we know more about our platform.
As a side note:

After reaching out to the tuner and getting that info from him that I posted a bit ago here, I asked about the progress of a tune for our vehicle.
It’s coming soon, check out OTT for a breakdown of details that they do currently for vehicles.
He has the beta tune on his 250 right now. Main takeaways I saw from the website was optimizing shift points, throttle control, optimize fuel and open live sensor for fuel quality.
I asked how it’s feeling on his 250 right now, he said a lot of the rough shifts that happen with our vehicles feels gone. Vehicle is much more responsive and more speeds and rpm ranges. He said before tune you didn’t really have to worry about regular to premium gas, but now it will adjust to be optimized for the gas on the fly.
Sport can feel more responsive and sporty, eco can yield better results as well. Off-road response can be tuned for how you want as well.

I’m am a fan of tunes on modern vehicles, so I’m excited for this. They can also tune to take into account the much bigger tire setup a lot of us have.

I’m generally very hesitant on tunes, especially for vehicles under warranty - but I am intrigued by better transmission shifting behaviour.

They were saying this tune doesn’t change or interfere with the vehicle ID in the software (may be using the wrong terms) so it shouldn’t impact anything with Toyota. Said they didn’t have issues with the other models they tune for that are already available.

maybe somebody knows somebody who knows peeps from Ed Martin Toyota and can suggest this project to play with? They have done some hackery with LCs in the past and as dealership they'd have access to Toyota's tech docs and parts.

They will do/attempt anything you want, you just gotta pay for it. Eric was super to work with and his shop is top notch............. But when our attempt at swapping the GX550 fuel tank didn't work out and the mechanic had installed the fuel pump into the new gas tank, thus a small amount of fuel got in the new tank, it couldn't be returned and I am the proud owner of a VERY expensive fuel tank........ Not their fault and I didn't hold it against them.

If you are interested, just Google "ED Martin Toyota" call them and ask for Eric (he's the GM) he'll discuss the merits and actually send you an estimated cost est...... IF his team thinks it's possible with "part swapping".

I'm not that invested into this investigation 🙈 Just an idea for their YT channel, just in case they are reading this thread or here is somebody who can make them read it and catch some hype (12 pages worth of drama! the interest is definitely here 😅)

Thier projects are based on Eric's personal LC and customer funded projects.
