1958 vs LCLC off-road software (A-TRAC(?) vs MTS)

Form what I’ve seen the 4x4 ECU, Body Control Module and DIM are all different haven’t looked to see if the ABS module is the same which would control the wheel slip.

Not sure the BCM matters but I doubt the DIM would be able to display the changes even if all other limitations were removed.

May order the 4x4 controller surprisingly the dealer says it’s not on back order. I have a different scanner to try to unlock setting I’ll mess with it more tomorrow. If you can unlock it with at least the panel and controller animated images on the dash wouldn’t be that big of a deal. I would assume it would show up as the simple selection menu.

This is the connector going to the module (the connector closest to the driver)
I’m obviously on a 1958. Can someone with a FE and or LC edition post a shot of the wires going into their connector? Wanting to see if the layout is the same.

Looks like it may. There’s a lot clipped into place in the module so I didn’t take it completely apart because I didn’t want to risk damaging anything. I want the highest chance of it being accepted as a return. So I figured we can compare the plugs going into the module. Much more accessible and easier to see which pins are being utilized.

Only Japanese
It's hard to notice, but there are differences.

The all-wheel drive control computer is different. The catalog states that the 4-wd computer installed for mode select control such on the 1958 model is identical to my empty car. Perhaps that's also a problem.

Not sure which plug you are referring to. Do you have a wider angle pic showing the module and pig tail?

I suspect the downstream actuators are also different. Does anyone know if 1958 has servo-based or vacuum-based actuators?

I added a series of 3 images. To show how the buttons face the driver typically, rotating to show both plugs, one further and one closer to the driver. The one closer to the driver is the plug we’re referring to.

Well we have a difference in the connector it looks like. One side is the same, the other side has a different color blue for one of the blues as well as the addition of another on yours, the red one, that I don’t have.

Mine is a 2024....... and it appears I have an extra wire along with different colors.

I'm curious.........

If Toyota sells a sub harness or if it's one big dash harness.
If the Module part number is the same for both trims. If so, could the extra wire be added as a "stand alone" and just be pinned into the connector.
