Well, when people question common knowledge, dismiss you personally when you explain, demand “proof” and then dismiss said proof because…reasons, well…Why is every single one of your posts so condescending?
People are allowed to talk about subjects even if you don’t want to be a part of the conversation. Just don’t partake if you think it’s beaten to death. There’s no excuse for your constant derision and condescension in every one of your posts. There’s rarely a thing you write here that doesn’t include an insult tagged on.Well, when people question common knowledge, dismiss you personally when you explain, demand “proof” and then dismiss said proof because…reasons, well…
Maybe it’s being tired of listening to people who clearly know nothing about a topic dismiss those who do.
How many people have said the same thing about why premium gas is recommended, posted videos/info from various sources, only to be dismissed? Why is this thread (and the others like it) 8+ pages long? There’s a simple answer but some folks think they know more than the engineers who built the thing.
But then again, this is the modern America we live in - experts know nothing, and the uniformed know everything.

Thanks for the link! Really enjoyed that interview. Here's the Video
During the interview, Executive Chief Engineer Sheldon Brown addresses fuel requirements for Toyota's 2.4L turbocharged i-FORCE MAX engine (used in the Land Cruiser and Tacoma). He explains that while premium fuel (91+ octane) is recommended to achieve the engine's peak rated performance (326 hp / 465 lb-ft of torque), running regular 87 octane gas will work completely fine. The engine's modern ECU automatically adjusts timing to prevent knock, resulting only in a minor reduction in horsepower and fuel economy with regular gas.
