RESOLVED - BeatSonic Issue - Entertainment system won't shut off/reboot (ENA-3T3 installed)

I think yours is definitely a malfunction. Can happen to any manufacturer. What makes or break them in my mind is how they handle the failure - Beatsonic has shown their colors with you.

Stickerfab is the middleman. If the manufacturer won’t refund then they’d be screwed.
Agreed...except as of now, I'm the one that is screwed with a useless $350 item. The customer service on this is what I am focused on now and I will indeed keep everyone updated on who pulls through and who doesn't.

Don't hold your breath on StickerFab at best they might give you 20% back and you pay for shipping.

They are 99% a reseller who doesn't stock inventory and either drop ships or reships your orders of mostly chinese crap IME/IMO at a decent mark up to make all that profitable and some orders take quite a long time to arrive.

Well I hope they step up. This would be my second issue...first one was not resolved either. Ironically, this item was also part of that order. So, I am hoping @StickerFab will do the right thing here. If not, I'd question the forum moderators to continue allowing them to be a vendor on here because my assumption is that this group is a community to help each other and I'd expect the vendors and supporters to also support the members.

Heard back from BeatSonic who said their engineers have developed a series of steps for me to take and things to connect and disconnect in a specific order "to determine if this is a problem with the cable harness or the ENA-3T3 device." I reviewed what they asked me to do, which again requires me to tear apart the dashboard and then basically do technical troubleshooting in the Toyota harness, etc. I replied back to them that whether or not it was the harness or the device itself, I wasn't comfortable using my $80,000 Land Cruiser for a test lab and that I would much more prefer that they warranty this unit and send me a new harness and device because the next time I take the dash apart, it would be to install the replacement items. They then can take mine back and test there in their own setup. I'm awaiting a response.

Unreal. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Ok, update from BeatSonic. Based on one of the pictures that I sent them, they see a bent pin in one of the connectors that they think might be causing the issue. As a normal consumer (and relatively handy with cars) I can say that I simply plugged it in, per the instructions. I believe it was a manufacturing defect, but can't say that 100% for sure. Either way, they are sending me a new harness and a pre-paid return label to send the other one back. Once this arrives and I re-install it I will let everyone know how it turns out. Here is the picture for reference:

It’s super easy to bend pins - I’d be hesitant to blame the manufacturer for that. Sounds like a very reasonable solution on their part. Confidence restored!

Totally agree! The best outcome is this arrives, I install it and it works as it should. I want nothing more! Beat Sonic, other than giving me a long list of things to test and such, has been VERY engaged in the process.

Hopefully a new harness puts things right. I am glad the manufacturer is taking care of you 👍🏼

Test it before you put everything back together, that’s what I did. I know that stuff happens so that is the reason why my dash was disassembled and I tested anyway.

I'm definitely going to inspect the new harness to make sure the pin doesn't look like the one in my picture and will absolutely test all the features before reassembly...especially my original issue of not being able to power off the volume or reboot the system!

Ok, latest update since I did call out some vendors in my post, I want to make sure people get the latest as I try to solve this. Today, I received a small box from Beat-Sonic with a new harness and I did indeed confirm there are no bent pins. They also included a pre-paid return label for the damaged/defective harness to be returned. I plan to re-install everything with the new harness in the next 24-48 hours and I will then report back if this did indeed fix the issue. 🤞🤞🤞

Latest and final update - new harness was installed and fixed the issue. The bent pin in the original one was definitely the issue. It is unclear if that arrived that way or happened during install, but Beat Sonic sent me a new harness and prepaid return label for the old one, so props to the support. Ben was good to work with and they did follow up to make it right! Bonus is the new replacement harness doesn't have a separate ground wire anymore, so that is a nice improvement. It is now built into the harness connection to the head unit! So, thanks to Beat Sonic for the follow up and help with getting it resolved!!

Thanks for giving us the final update!

Yes, thank you for updating that everything is good with your Beatsonic setup.

It is good to know we can have some consumer confidence with the product, especially given how you were feeling about it before the replacement harness was on the way.

Beatsonic does a great job in my opinion. Just got another for our new LC w/ JBL. I already had a ENA-3T3 in our ‘25 Tundra SR5 and was really impressed. Keep the gains below the 2 o’clock setting and they won’t overpower cheap speakers, but still brings in solid sound.

The LC JBL improvement was remarkable. Weak bass woke up a bit sharper & firmer, and sound overall sounds great. I took our system off of surround sound to get better sound separation. On the install used the glove box to house the Beatsonic. I carefully shaped the harness between The center air ducts & over to the glove box. There is a finisher on the glove box door opening at the top left side of the box that I removed - think it’s for a led light in GX’s. I gently worked the connectors through that hole, so now I can still adjust the Beatsonic gain if needed. I velcro’d the unit to the upper shelf. Just take your time getting the harness/connectors through the hole.

The part you removed is where the latch for the glove bax door attaches. If you look to the opposite side, then you'll see an identical place where the right side of the glove box door attaches. I like your solution, but I'm wondering if you've noticed any rattle from the glove box door at this point? I also wonder if the door may warp over time without a secure attachment on both sides; what have you noticed, if anything?

You’re correct. The side of the glove box closest to the driver is open a fraction more than it should when closed. Doesn’t rattle. But I may try to reinstall the finisher for that side of the latch.
Good catch…no pun intended
