Photo Thread: Land Cruiser Off Road!

Good catch - yes that sign says Red not New. So this is in KY I think. And the trails are even better than I thought.
Hopefully @skeptopotamus will see this and give some details on this trail and area, which looks to be really cool.
Yep, this is Kentucky on the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway. The trails I did were no more than a 3. That mud was super slick and was the only area we could not get through without some help (the traction boards), though I did not air down.

Tackling Imogene and Camp Bird loop in Ouray… after many years with my 200, the 250 is very capable and impressive. Full skids, 33 KO3’s, and stock suspension. Pick good lines and no issues.

Skinny 33’s?!?!? I love it.

Finally made it all the way through the Bennett Pass trail(s) (OnX says there are 2, but it seems to be the same forest road 🤷‍♂️ ). I've traversed it from North to South. I had the trail to myself for ~3 hours, haven't seen a single soul out there (likely because it is was a weekday and normally by this time of the year at this elevation of 5-6K feet everything is already covered with multiple feet of snow).

I’m shocked how little snow there is! Those who have been where you were in the first photo all puckered a little when we saw it 😆

Such a fun area.

Amazing photos. You are lucky to have that scenery and roads like that to drive. I sure wish we had something like that here on the east coast.

This is why I always carry a full-length shovel now.

After dropping the tires to nearly 0 PSI, I got to put my new Anderson quick connect port to use airing back up.

That 3rd pic...always unnerving to me w/out a spotter. Even when I know what's on the on the other side.
The second picture probably shows it best as just a 10ft tabletop but you’re right, it went vertical for that short moment or two! Land Cruiser walked right up it, even on my stock 245 geolanders. I was impressed!

I thought it would be fun to have a thread where we post our trucks tackling the gnarly stuff. There’s a great thread already for general scenic shots, but those aren’t typically off-roading: Let’s see your LandCruisers in scenic locations

I’ll share first: here some shots of me tackling a some obstacles on an OHV trail I was distracted by on my way to a hiking trailhead. As always, clearance (especially approach and departure angle, but often break over angle) is my limiting factor.

I dragged the rear right bumper a bit on this one - a lift will really help the departure angle.

This rock obstacle was fun and not super challenging, but I did have to carefully choose my line so that I was contacting the rocks with my front tire instead of my front bumper!

What wheels/tires/offset is that? Looks great!

Thanks!

Wheels: 17”x8.5” Method 703 in 0 offset.
Tires: Mickey Thompson Baja Boss, E-Load in 285/70 size.

The wheels can be had in a higher offset too, which I think looks better, but can be harder to fit taller tires without a lift.

I don't know where to start . . . I spent like 8h yesterday in the woods, mostly driving, but got stuck badly-ish twice; while recovering, I messed up some body trim.

The first time was a mud pit. The road dropped down steeply—the inclinometer got maxed out, so I don't have an exact number, but I bet it was like 40 degrees—and turned into muuuud (the first time I’ve encountered clay-mud in the Cascades). Rain and melting snow were draining into this pit, so the clay was super soggy. I was sliding on the hill left and right—mostly right, in the direction of the cliff (this was part of a shelf road, by the way).

The second time, I got high-centered on snow-ice. It was all fun and chill until I got to a wide-open space and got off the compacted snow (there were no any tracks to follow). Each recovery took 30m+ and all the skill I had (which isn't much). The worst thing: I fell short of my final destination by just one mile
