Photo Thread: Land Cruiser Off Road!

Bennett Pass
I've tried this trail, but my passengers definitely not me 🙈 have chickened out half(?) the way when real shelf road began. Puppy for scale 😅

That one spot where there’s about a vehicles length where your tire is just inside the drop off, and if you stick your head out the driver’s side window and look down - well that spot is a lot. The first time I went through I was on my dual sport and considered turning around there, but decided the obstacle was the way forward. It’s a fun route.

When I think back over the years of me riding Gretchen (‘07 GSA) and Linda (‘11 GSA) in places where there was NO PLACE to turn around….. all I can do is shake my head.. Fun (a rush) back then.. but I would not do it again at my age..

Literally no road. Bushwhacking for a bit. Lots of brush marks on the sides after this. Had to cross a couple downed trees careful not to high center.

Hell yeah, this is my favorite environment to explore in. Pinstripes down the sides are proof you know what the truck was made for!

Yeah, the whole crew I was with were fairly shocked and impressed. Including myself.
That’s why we love our LC!
Haters always trash LC which they had never owned one ;)

That looks awesome. Is that the New River Gorge trail rated a 4/10 on OnX? About 12 miles long? Or different trail in the vicinity?
It looks like some difficulty in that mud and I am guessing pretty steep incline?

Red River Gorge != New River Gorge :)

Same question though, I've only done a small portion of RRG.

Good catch - yes that sign says Red not New. So this is in KY I think. And the trails are even better than I thought.
Hopefully @skeptopotamus will see this and give some details on this trail and area, which looks to be really cool.

Openning hua hua hua season

at some point found myself at a pretty steep hill made of mud and rocks with holes almost waist deep, had like a peasant touch that L4 switch and even engage rear locker, LC plowed that hill violently, unfortunately photos do not relay the smell and scale.

Is that a rotopax up there on your OEM roof? I am going round and round on how to carry a little extra fuel and this is the least expensive and least complicated way but I have not seen anyone doing it until this. What are you using to strap down and are there 2- two gallon containers stacked up there?

It’s a single Rotopax. It worked out well. I had to get a little clever with the mounting bracket. But I found the Yakima Rotopax kit works well. On my first trip I didn’t have the Yakima kit and just strapped them down with some tie down pull-straps and that worked just fine.
