Not feeling the love y’all!

Yep - Situational Awareness.
Convinced some animals just have it & some are losing it.

Our 14 y/o Australian Shepherd lives inside, but her herding instinct kicks in on everything from chickens to kids playing around a pool.

Meanwhile, pretty sure mankind is losing it Gen by Gen.

I'll wave at you bro.. I have a similar experience - around 1 out of 5 ppl wave back. I had an FJ Cruiser before the LC and FJ owners seemed more willing to engage - maybe when you get up in the higher priced rigs people are more self consumed, snooty.

Sorry it's probably me
I have a 16 Jeep Wrangler and the LC and I never wave or try to. I'm not on my phone tho, I guess the Jeep waving wore me out after the first few years so I'm jaded. Now I avert my eyes 👀

Probably less to do with snootiness and more to do with a small niche community of owners (FJ) versus a massive group of owners (250). There was a tenfold production of the latter over the former in their first year runs, as an example. You’re going to have a lot more “this is just a car” owners at that volume.

But yeah, plenty of snootiness too I’m sure. Especially from disappointed Station Wagon owners.

I’ve had my 58 since Spring ‘24 and now, only now, am I starting to see one here or there. Maybe only 1x/month. I see plenty of jeeps with silly ducks plastered across the dash.
But no, 250s. I do see a couple of 550s around my hood every month, though.
I firmly The LC owner is completely different than the Jeep owners. They are going to be more reserved, less excitable to see another one on the road and likely more self-absorbed 😂😂😂

I'm in the Bay Area California (the place where tire restrictions give humanity a time extension)
anyways... People here run around like its their last 24 hours on the planet (myself included) Very Mission focused and for no reason 🤖
I do give a peace sign or hang loose sign to other LC250. I used to own a 4runner, so i feel the wave belongs to them

I did have some idiot LC250 owner rush up and into my blind spot during high-speed traffic merging, where 85mph traffic merges with 25Mph Traffic (680SB/101SB), a stretch of 101 where mass lane merging takes place. He basically went from 85 to 35mph so he could slam on his breaks next to me, honk his horn and wave frantically for 5 seconds. He almost caused about 6 to 10 vehicles to lose control. 1958 Meteor Shower YOHB!

Oddly I still found it kind of cool
That may have been a bit too friendly......

Ok maybe it’s just me or area I’m in but LC drivers can be a tad douchey. The new 250 isn’t a crazy volume vehicle so when I’m next to one at a red light or facing another at a stop sign I always get a little excited and try to wave or acknowledge like “hey, great car right!?” And not ONE single time has anyone ever reciprocated or even looked up from their phones. Could be a sign of the times but man, seems like everyone is so distracted or disconnected from the camaraderie of life. I’ve always laughed at the Jeep folks and their wave but now I’m thinking we could collectively be/do better! Nonetheless, I’m gonna keep waving like a lunatic from my ‘58 so if you see me out on the road, give us a thumbs up or even a slight finger raise from the wheel. Life is short and every day is a gift.
The last 3 LC250 owners I waved to didn’t acknowledge me. That won’t stop me though!

Shortly after joining the ADVRider.com forum (for dual sport motorcyclists) back in ‘07 or ‘08, I learned about the ‘adventure salute’, which was and is the highest form of praise and respect that we could show one another when passing on a road or highway.

Maybe we should adopt the same…

What was it?

Simple…

That salute is over-used around here. Need something else.

I recall the first occasion of this was when o purchased a Defender 110 . Driving with a mate he was taken aback when I did not reciprocate an oncoming wave . Fast forward to our Jimny procurement for the holiday home and driving it up, the same . Jeep JK , same . I can say in defence of LC250, of yours is kitted out, the same , will reciprocate. Many use it as a moms taxi so they won’t understand . The plus side of this is if these come up for pre- owned sale, there is statistically a good chance that is was previously a suburban runaround and “untinkered” keep waving , start a movement 😎
