Not feeling the love y’all!

I always wave to LCs. Most return the gesture if they see it. About half are looking at phones, passengers, or something else. But then, this is the South and most people are friendly anyway. When I drive on the beach in NC, it is rare that someone does not return a wave. Everyone is enjoying this great vehicle.

Agree, folk in the New York area are not likely to be friendly. Maybe cause of the Rat Race of the location. Southern folk are more relaxed and will wave back south of the Mason Dixon line.

I went to a local Land Cruiser meet-up with my 1958. The reaction from folks was split down the middle. Some were super cool, others not so much. At the end of the day, I used my own money to buy what makes me happy. I will say only other 1958 owners smile and wave.
I can imagine the mightier than thou stench from a bunch of dudes who bought used land cruisers with 250,000 miles for a quarter of what they cost brand new.

Just went to a concert down I84 in western CT last night. NY drivers are too busy playing lane ping pong to gain a few yards, cut you off,....basically their assholishness is off the charts these days. Prime reason I am moving out of CT in a few years. It is starting to feel like a suburb on New York sadly.......that and singlehandedly, I84 is killing the state with its terminal obsolete design..........I see some LCs around here, 99% are stock as we don't exactly live in Off road country....at the same time every other Wrangler is over the top, way too shiny to have ever seen dirt and full of fn ducks.

@Sugarloafer80 - Your Jeep comment is awesome!

Drove up to move the kid to college Friday & saw several unique Jeeps on campus. Not sure why you’d ever modify your ride into a ‘Hello Kitty’ Jeep edition with 20 stuffed animals on the dash, but this rig also had $4000 of lift/tire/rims & jack on the hood blinging off the Purple Metallic body wrap that’d never seen mud. At a Whataburger saw a nice lift w/ KO3 on tire carrier, along with/ 22x10 chrome offset wheels with street tread that looked like O-rings on the rim. If he hit an expansion joint he’d bend a rim! Fun to watch how people mod.

Seems as Jeeps go more 2nd & 3rd hand in ownership the drivers are changing to an expression of the driver, not a use.

Not judging, just entertained by what people will do.

When I lived in Greenwich years ago, we would laugh at the moms and dads with rhino bars on their range rovers. Never did see a rhino in Fairfield County in the years I lived there. Moved to NC and never looked back. Now I can drive on the beach every day, except weekends during tourist season, when it is cheek to jowl and 3 deep.

Expression of the driver......expression of the person...all tatted up...why so much need for "expression" these days????
Is there nothing else left????
I used to think clean and relatively shiny was plenty.........now even the Si02 detailing fanatics are so over the top its getting silly. Not judging but I can't not see it............it is a symptom of something far bigger.

I have not seen any rhinos outside the zoo. But we do have deer hunting season. BTW, we do have the state aquarium here which is magnificent. Unfortunately, it is closed for a couple of years for renovations and updates. Rhino bars might be helpful with the alligators.

One of the biggest threats is that they tag the tourists $51.50/day to drive on the 4WD beach at Freeman Park. Locals buy a year pass in December for $130, in person only. Rhino bars would not help with that issue.

I'll wave to you bro. I have had two BRZs now, and from 2014 to 2022 or so, every single one I passed did the wave. Once Subaru released the redesigned version, no waves. It is more car culture than status for the real ones. I guess when someone pays a shitload of money for a car it buys them purchase to feel elite.
Welcome to the asylum. 👋🏼

.lots of wierdos, homers, pedos, psychos , ragers, narco druggies, stoners, alkis, etc out there that go off with eye contact.....
You act as those would be considered frowned upon character traits....

Dont make fun of them. They likely had their RRs valet parked in NYC. Those non english speaking bastards ruined my sports car in the parking garages. You can watch them bash your bumpers as they force fit the cars in the garage. I was wondering why many cars have a doormat hanging out of the trunk until i picked up my poor car. NYC is a hell-hole and a half. I wouldnt valet my wheel barrow there. You need full bar work for that place, even for a prius

I went to University in NY and then lived in Manhattan for a few years. Great apartment overlooking the Hudson River and within a short walk to work. As a young man, I loved living there. But that was then and at that time of my life. I would never go back now. Too many rats in the cage, even with Rhino bars. I would not think of driving my LC there. And a wave probably means something else.

Be a lot easier if we just cut the other 3 fingers off for them. But then the horn would be a challenge....Looking out of a soot covered window at more soot and pollution is not my idea of a good view....

I'm in the Bay Area California (the place where tire restrictions give humanity a time extension)
anyways... People here run around like its their last 24 hours on the planet (myself included) Very Mission focused and for no reason 🤖
I do give a peace sign or hang loose sign to other LC250. I used to own a 4runner, so i feel the wave belongs to them

I did have some idiot LC250 owner rush up and into my blind spot during high-speed traffic merging, where 85mph traffic merges with 25Mph Traffic (680SB/101SB), a stretch of 101 where mass lane merging takes place. He basically went from 85 to 35mph so he could slam on his breaks next to me, honk his horn and wave frantically for 5 seconds. He almost caused about 6 to 10 vehicles to lose control. 1958 Meteor Shower YOHB!

Oddly I still found it kind of cool
