Land Cruiser Tire Upgrades?

When I mentioned to my dealer I’d be swapping out tires/wheels, I was cautioned to stay within 2% of the OEM tire size if I didn’t want partial warranty voided. Sadly, no Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act in Canada.
For what it's worth, a quick calculation says that 275s are only 1.8% larger (in diameter) than 265s... Maybe you can make it work? Seems reasonable that we can use 265 as OEM spec, given that they are stock on LC LCs, even if 1958s come with 245s.

Yes, crunched those numbers and came to the same conclusion. That is the size I was leaning towards depending on availability in my preferred brands.

Ended up slapping some 275/70R18 KO3s on my 1958 stock wheels. Ride is great and tons of space inside of wheel well. No concerns about rubbing, just as others have reported here. Actually, speedo reads more accurate now, though still over-reporting speed. Seems like the OEM 245 are just really far off the intended spec of the truck.

Thanks for confirming fitment! Another thing to point out about the 1958 wheels is that the rims are 7" wide. Not all tires, especially plus sizes will be approved for for the 7" rim width.

My winter tires just arrived today!

You bet. Fortunately 7” is still in spec for 275/70R18 KO3s, but just barely. Don’t think you can go any bigger in these rims. I wanted to stay stock so 275 was as far as I wanted to go with it anyhow. Pretty happy with where I’m at now and ready to be a tad more aggressive in road/trails that I explore.

I’m in AZ… What’s a snow tire? 😂

Wanted to update with some information. I just upgraded to 275/60/20 Continental Terrain AT SL on my stock LC/LC. I drove it 1200 miles at strong highway speeds to Colorado, handles great, relatively low noise.

Yesterday I just did Hacket Gulch... performed unbelievable. For a true do it all tire, with occasional off roading, I couldn't recommend enough. A++

Falken wildpeak at4w 35x11.50r17 +35 offset.

"Bro's" at discount tire gave me a speech about working with tires most of his life and he guaranteed me they wouldn't fit. He wouldnt look at me after they had finished, wanted to give him a "told ya so".

Trimmed some fender liner and very bottom corners of fender. Removed crash bracket. Only barely rubs at front left wheel when full lock steering wheel right.

I plan on do some more trimming to the front fender. Just haven't decided on cut geometry to make it as anesthetic/unnoticeable as possible. I don't plan to upgrade the suspension in the near future unless my pocket really starts itching. Had fox 2.5s on my 2020 tacoma, will more than likely go kings when/if i do decide to upgrade. Im more of a "soft" off road kinda guy. Sand beaches, some rough gravel roads, maybe smol obstacles. I think stock suspension does a great job. Im not a spacer kinda guy either, wont do it. I also prefer my truck as "low as possible" with as big of a tire and smallest wheel possible.

sounds like you two had different ideas about what the word fit means . If it rubs and requires trimming it is not fitting . Any reason why you chose the falkens ? At 70lb they are the heaviest 35 tire by a significant margin with the lightest being Bronco Sasquatch tire and nitto grappler in size 18

I know off topic but think the full Heritage blue with roof looks much better.

I had already done the trimming I thought was necessary before getting the tires put on and he still didn't believe it would fit.

As far as the falkens go... I was determined to have 35x11.50r17's on the truck which realistically left me with three options as far as the best quality AT'S. Falken, toyo and Nittos. Falkens are more quiet on road so that's what I went with. What I really wanted were KO3s in this size but they don't come out til mid next year. Also didn't prefer having method wheels. Was game planning on going with Rays but decided to put the difference in price elsewhere.

is it safe to assume everyone is running ET lugnuts on the aftermarket wheels?
