This looks great, can the rear passengers bang heads on it? Is it easy to remove if you temporarily need the extra space for large cargo etc.?

It sits completely behind the head rests and it's front/back position is adjustable.

You would need help taking the rack down easily w/out disassembly. You could use something the the following to make uninstalling toolless.

Easy stuff today, black iForceMax overlay & floor mats. I saw the 3W floor mats/liners (whatever) on Social media and figured I’d check them out. I watched several reviews on YouTube & for $143 for front, rear and trunk I figured I wasn’t losing much so I ordered them.

So far I’m pretty impressed. They aren’t as stiff as the Weathertech & Husky I’ve had experience with in the past. The fit is excellent for the floor mats. I have an OE trunk mat so it wasn’t necessary but it came with the set so I figured I’d check it out. The trunk liner fits ok but doesn’t have the holes for the tie downs so I’ll stick with the OE liner.

Kinda wish the overlay extended to cover the chrome on the round part also. Weird that it doesn’t.

Im pretty excited about this one; I had leather installed on Comet (my LC 1958). I bought my LC last September and knew I wanted to add leather because I have dogs and we are an active fam so it’s easier to keep clean than fabric. I actually loved the fabric though, so I took my time to decide on what I wanted to replace it with.

At first I thought I would go with a factory match for the Java color and perforation. With my main concern being durability, I ultimately decided against perforation since it can tend to catch debris and is more susceptible to rips and tears (don’t have/want ventilated seats). I think the Java/Perforation combo looks really good but I kind of don’t like the brown paired with Meteor Shower.

I didn’t like the idea of black because the 1958 is pretty dark as it is - so I thought maybe adding a little color contrast would be nice. The process with Katzkin was easy enough, though I did feel a little nervous doing it online as it can be hard to know exactly what the colors will look like in reality. That said, the purple leather inserts look SO good with the Meteor Shower paint and the sliver stitching matches the factory arm rest exactly.

Also, Katzkin will send fabric and thread samples but I didn’t want to wait as there was a promotion which basically made the color and tekstich customizations free… it seems like they offer promotions frequently though… the only bummer about Katzkin is they won’t embroider/emboss any Toyota logos - they say Toyota won’t let them.

The Katzkin upgrade is most likely in my future as well. But, putting a Gunner Kennel in the back has sort of eliminated the dog hair everywhere issue.

Went a little different direction than the black wheel trend. Original 20” wheels powdered coated white. Also, added the black and silver 4 Wheel Drive emblem, door sill protection plates, silicone skin over the console with storage bins on each side, full length silicone storage bin on the passenger side dash, hood lift struts and offroam phone holder base with 67 Designs phone holder attached.

Love this look, good for you for taking a risk. Well done.

I used this fused ring terminal/Anderson Powerpole cable to connect to the battery:

I then used some 10-gauge primary wire and some 45-amp Powerpoles I had left over from another wiring project to make about an 18" cable. I put Powerpoles on one end of the extension and connected the other end to this Powerpole outlet:

The extra Powerpole connection between the battery and the outlet gives extra wire length and allows for easy disconnection of the outlet from the battery, if needed.

I just did the same, mostly for my shorter wife and kid. Originally i wanted them for looks but i think i grew to like the look without them.
