Great job Toyota . The new Kia telluride comes with higher ground clearance and better offroad tires, and the rear seats fold completely flat

Naw, I have a flagship Cruiser.
You mean an old one...........the one you couldn't give to me for free, and sales back me up................the prick factor on this forum is surprisingly typical of most forums these days. Seems like our overstressed, underworked youth (you know the start at the top before you have earned it type) need to vent on forums........I'm just a sarcastic F that enjoys funnin a bit.....trying to contribute in a positive tone rather than complain about everything. MIleage observations, tire pressures, ACC, etc. I got flamed about filling up though...hehe, but not much to complain about on this vehicle.....and I DID own Range Rovers so stepping DOWN to a Lexus would have been the logical choice but dealer proximity and damn good looks won the day. BTW that RR 3.0TT mild hybrid is the smoothest motor I have ever owned and could easily give my Westie 21-23mpg at 75 -80 mph....I believe we can call that a superior technology with few if any known major issues. Too bad they got too huge and my future dealer would be 2.5hrs away.

Claiming V35A superiority in the face of its OBVIOUS issues (sad truth) is about the most idiotic post I have seen on this forum TEGHOGH. Glad you gave us the million mile sign off with our vibrator.(LAUGHABLE) Why not just permanently migrate to Lexus world. Your BS is getting old...dare I say TROLL LIKE. Toyota has a GM V8 debacle on their hands...

Or a Kia pushing other supposedly "better" rigs through a flooded desert in Australia.

LC250 haters can cope and seethe.

Holy, you are such a dink.

You made provocative and frankly just stupid statements comparing a unibody family hauler to the LC, clearly hoping to get a rise out of people. And when you do and people point out your faulty logic, you call THEM morons?

You're the moron, buddy. Get lost.
Well proof is in the pudding folks . this forum is crowded by 99 percent morons . And here is why:

I created a thread to discuss the few known tips and tricks when it comes to to off-roading and it got 0 replies

Then a post abiut how Kiaโ€™s street car some how has more clearance and flat folding seats and there are 3 pages of anger fueled hysteric responses on how dare you criticize Toyota it is perfect that way it is

Letโ€™s get back to the usual hotly debated topics by the fellow brainiacs here

1. Why is my mpg so low
2. I got 4mpg improvements by removing my cross bars
3. How to crack the mpg formula and get 29 mog
4. How much mpg hit by removing the front plastic valance
5. I broke my windshield
6.can I put 87 in my truck when 91 is recommended. Whatโ€™s the mpg hit
6. I put pff and ceramic coating on my offroad truck
7. Look the gx550 engines are failing. What a great decision I have made and quietly rejoicing the their issue

Letโ€™s change the name to landfieldforum and call it done

Nissan will probably not be around in 5-10 years anyway, at least not in a recognizable form. It will either go bankrupt and absorbed into another car manufacturer. Or a Chinese auto maker will buy it to use its dealer/service network as a front to import their cars to US.

Rather than leave the stock tires, I swapped them out. Would it have been nice if my Land Cruiser shipped with something better? I would have been all over that, but better is in the eye of the beholder. I suppose I could have done that upgrade at the dealer before delivery, but they donโ€™t give much credit for take-off wheels/tires.

I have some thoughts on ride height- a couple of extra inches of ground clearance would have been nice.. I think I am going to sit back and watch what forum members continue to come up with before I pull the trigger on any kind of lift. Specifically, I am waiting to see someone swap TRD or Trailhunter suspension parts onto a Land Cruiser, see how that goes in terms of degree of lift and changes to ride quality.

The point? Many of the perceived shortcomings that go with Toyota bringing this vehicle to our market can be addressed. It is a functional vehicle right out of the showroom, one that can be fine tuned to an end userโ€™s wants. There is already some aftermarket support, and if the vehicleโ€™s sales numbers climb the aftermarket may follow suit if the market deems it profitable to do so. Fingers crossed.
Is someone explains how to get the new GX lift on the LC, I will pull the trigger on that. Not having E-KDSS is annoying with all that body roll.

Agree, nissan are tin cans on wheels. Like KIa. Lets compare apples to apples. Toyotas are on a higher level....

You get what you pay for.

I think he was talking about reports on this forum. But zero recorded events on this forum would make sense due to the way a lot of the 250 owners here talk so nasty to GX550 people and run em off.
Gx550 is a fine vehicle. My stepmom drives one, and my wife has a GX460.
Itโ€™s just there are a lot of people coming on
insisting the GX550 is somehow a โ€œtruer Land Cruiserโ€ than the LC250.

What also cracks me up is some claiming the Overtrail or Overtrail Plus is the โ€œsmart off-road buyโ€ without ever actually cross-shopping what people are paying in the real world. Land Cruiser Edition LC250s are already selling well under MSRP. Mine was about $2,000 under the Land Cruiser-trim sticker back in 2024, and today many are going out the door in the low $60Ks with dealers discounting them like any other Toyota.

Now look at the Lexus side. Lexus dealers rarely offer meaningful discounts as a matter of business model, and the GX550 Overtrail stickers in the mid-$70Ks while the Overtrail Plus starts in the low-$80Ks. In practice, most buyers arenโ€™t getting those for MSRP. There are still waitlists and markups, and a lot of real deals are landing in the low $80Ks to low-$90Ks out the door.

So from where Iโ€™m sitting, the real-world spread between a discounted LC250 Land Cruiser Edition and an Overtrail/Overtrail Plus that actually leaves the lot is roughly $20,000โ€“$30,000.

And thatโ€™s where the value argument falls apart. For the same out-the-door price as an Overtrail or Overtrail Plus, I can start with a Land Cruiser Edition that already has three-zone climate control, the simpler hybrid four-cylinder with a super-usable torque curve, the straightforward transmission, and the massive factory inverter โ€” then spend the price difference on proper tires, armor, recovery gear, a small lift, and still come out ahead. I end up with a Land Cruiser thatโ€™s more capable in the dirt, cheaper to run, and still costs less than the Lexus people are calling the โ€œsmart off-road buy.โ€

Again, the GX 550 is a great car. Itโ€™s just itโ€™s set up to to be Lexus and priorities were made versus what spec are typical Land cruiser.. A 1 inch lift and some off-road tires and wheels does not suddenly make it massively more capable and certainly not for the price they charge for the privilege.

Again 0 reported issues on the forums
Well Toyota is self reporting about 4K of them are getting recalled for same issue as Tundra and we know what that remedy on the Tundra V-35 was. (Full engine replacements)

Is that the Ingenium motor series? I looked at the Defender for a minute ans my wife loved it. I had a long chat with a trusted independent Land Rover mechanic. He told me itโ€™s probably the best engine theyโ€™ve built yet and generally trouble-free if you keep up with maintenanceโ€ฆ but then he showed me the service quotes. Godโ€™s teeth!

There are reported GX550 engine failures by the way, if you google โ€œGX550 engine failureโ€ numerous reports from owners appear.

Obviously we are not going to get a similar incidence rate to that of Tundra, as Toyota supposedly made at least some improvements that may have remedied the issue at some level. Plus sale volume of GX is a fraction of tundra, and owner demographics, the way the vehicle being used, etc, are vastly different between Tundra and GX.

THANK YOU> YOU NAILED IT....and LC is much better looking rig.....I dare say one of the best looking vehicles to be released in quite a while esp in SUV world

I mean, heโ€™s not wrongโ€ฆ but I love my 250 and would never drive a Kia.

While I've never owned a Telluride, I have owned several Ford Explorers. Comparing either to a Landcruiser for off-road use is a silly exercise. The LC will go places either vehicle can only dream of in advertising promotions. I pity the folks who buy a Telluride thinking they can actually do serious off-road stuff.

Yes, it would be nice if the LC seats folded flat. Yes, it would be preferable that Toyota equipped the LC with legitimate off-road tires, but that is easily fixed by spending more money.

I do agree there is a lot of silly noise on the forum, but one can ignore it, just like one can ignore all of the stupidity on social media.

It makes me sad the the GX550 is having engine issues, but that doesn't make it a lesser vehicle than the LC, just a different choice.

The LC isn't perfect, but rare is the vehicle that is.

THANK YOU> YOU NAILED IT....and LC is much better looking rig.....I dare say one of the best looking vehicles to be released in quite a while esp in SUV world

I know I took a liking to its lines after seeing the first few "in the wild." I have seen more than a few people giving our LC the once over in parking lots, and have gotten lots of unsolicited feedback from people with their thoughts.

As for the Traildust colour scheme, it's been about 50/50 love or hate- a polarizing colour. Baby :poop: brown has come up in few coversations, so now I just tell people I had the colour custom matched to some diaper contents

Yea I don't at all dislike the Traildust but #1 did not see one in person. #2 My wife did not approve of the pics #3 I hadn't had a white vehicle in 30+ years and always liked the Pearl whites so here we are. It will be predominantly her vehicle in Maine so she wins everytime. Finally the Pearl Toyota/Lexus vehicles have seemed to stand up extremely well over time.
