Brakes Squeal

Glad to hear the fix is working. I've been waiting for parts to arrive since August 12th.

I called to check parts availability and the service manager told me Toyota is only allowing them to order one kit per dealer per week until parts supply improves, and they have to see the issue and create a work order before they can order the parts. I'm taking it in next week for the 10K service and they'll get the parts ordered that day.

I asked if I should bring a video since the issue seems to only occur in the morning, and only very intermittently. His answer was essentially, "I know we're going to have to do these on most LCs at some point, so bring it in and I'll make sure we observe the issue and get your parts ordered."

We'll see how long the wait is once that happens.

I took mine in this morning and they ordered the kit but stated that it wouldn't fix the early morning squeal since it is caused by condensation. I never said anything about it only happening in the morning which is weird but anyway I hope they get the parts soon because it is embarrassing for to have that with a new vehicle.

My brakes squeal in reverse at 2000 miles. I took it to the Toyota dealer and was told that they had issues with brake pads in the Landcruiser and 4Runner. Here is the best part, they ordered new brakes and fixed it for FREE because it was covered under warranty. The brakes have not squeal again.

I just did the same thing. The dealer was well aware of the issue. They have ordered new pads and brake sensors--which apparently have been redesigned and will eliminate the squeak.

Mine has started making the same squeal when reversing in the morning. Not sure if it was triggered by the recent colder and wetter weather. I have an appointment in early Dec to have them look at the rattling noise on the passenger side. I'll add this to the list.

Taking mine in for the brake squeal TSB in a week. Does the TSB actually fix it?

I hope you're (they're) right. I had my pads and rotors replaced early summer, and the noise is (periodically) back.

Does anyone else exerience brakes squeel in reverse? Mine seems to do it mostly after it has sat for a while. I only notice it in reverse.
There is a TSB on the brakes at least for the 2024. I am told Toyota has limited supply and are releasing a few at a time to dealers. They have a fix with parts currently on order and are supposed to call me were they are in. There is also a TSB for the electronic mirror that is freezing up.

Yep, mine has been making the squeal on cold mornings as well, this is new for me.

Dealership installed the TSB recommended parts and no more squeak

I got the TSB done about 4 months ago. I have heard the noise about 2 times since then (I usually back my car in the garage, so mostly no reverse in morning)

Mine did for about six months, , but it has come back certainly not as loud but getting louder a little bit each week. I would say it’s still 2/3 quieter, but worried over time It will get just loud again.

Too funny, here in Australia some parts of the country will fix it and other parts have denied its happening even though there is a TSB. I’m trying to get a copy of the bulletin to show them for my next service.

Here is the one for the US market

Please let me know if they do anything about the sound from the passenger side...mine is getting more annoying.

lcoal dealership still has not called me back on parts availability. They mentioned 3 weeks, not one call for an update.
and they mentioned replacing the springs, but on the TSB it mentions shim kit and pads...sigh so tired of dealerships
