Brakes Squeal

Question for people who have had their brakes fixed per TSB. How long did it take for parts to come in? I’m in Seattle and brought my LC in on 7/31 to have brakes fixed. They said they needed to order the parts and no ETA for when they will get them. The squeal is bad. I’ve been leaving the house at 5 am to try to avoid all the construction traffic around Seattle. I’m afraid I’m waking the neighbors with the squeal, it’s so loud!! And the morning isn’t even when it’s the loudest!
I found out about the TSB while I was at the dealership getting my other vehicle serviced. I brought it to my service advisor's attention and he scheduled the service during my visit.

It took about 4 days for the parts to arrive and 3 hours for the service to be completed.

Called about it July 29th and parts were in and fixed on August 27th.

Does anyone else exerience brakes squeel in reverse? Mine seems to do it mostly after it has sat for a while. I only notice it in reverse.
Had my 2025 LC in to get the TSB only to find out the materials needed for the TSB are on "backorder indefinitely" in the US, they can't predict a date at this time..... :(

My Houston dealer told me just now the parts are on backorder with no estimated date for availability.... :(

I found out about the TSB the a day or so after it was announced. I got lucky.

I was in for 5k service and asked service advisor about it, he wasn't aware there was one but looked it up and ordered my parts he mentioned that it usually took a few weeks to get the parts for the Tacoma's with this problem. Will let you know when they come in.

I told my advisor about the Lexus TSB before Toyota issued theirs, and was on the lookout, asked them to look for it.... not a great dealership I'm dealing with....

I’d find another dealership, if possible.

After waiting over a month, I finally called Toyota and they said they had the parts. Apparently, they forgot to call to tell me that the parts were in. I got the brakes fixed under warranty and according to the TSB. It's been 2 days and so far, so good! No squealing in reverse. Although, I must admit, after hearing the squealing since day 3 of owning the vehicle and for over a year, it's weird! It is totally quiet when I'm reversing. My brain is so used to the squeal, not hearing it squeal makes me think there's something wrong!

Had the TSB done this week. Scheduled ahead to make sure they had the parts, after having Brand Engagement contact the dealer to "enlighten them". It only took about an hour while I waited. Solved the reverse squealing... all quiet now for the first time in my 25K miles!

I had a similar experience today with Toyota Walnut Creek (in California).

Called on 7/25 to make an appointment, spoke to a service advisor. It seemed like he acknowledged the TSB (in hingsight maybe he didn't care). I asked if he wants the TSB number, he declined. Made an appointment for 8/4.

Took the LC in on 8/04. A different advisor helped me, he said the parts are not available and on national backorer. Proceeded to tell him thats why I called, inquiring about the TSB and made an appointment. Why did I just waste my time coming here if the parts are not available. He gives me the run around and how they can look at some of my other concerns (these items were not a 911). Friustrated with them, left the car there. After picking up, they told me god knows when the parts will come and the parts department would call me when they're in. FML.
The drama continues.....
On 8/19 I received a text from the service rep that the parts are in and to make an appointment. I made an appointment for today (9/10). Drive my happy self over there, I told them why I was there and to look at a warranty item (rear AC wouldn't shut off) and do an oil change. Told me they need it overnight, I told them I was told they only need it for the day, hence why I brought it in 20 days later. Dude offers a rental. I asked the rep to confirm the parts are in. While I was standing there he called the parts department, they confirmed the parts are in. Relieved, I took the rental home.

Got a call in the afternoon that one of the parts is missing. What do you mean "missing"? They offered to come pick up the car or keep the rental, I opted for my LC back. When I arrived, the cashier couldn't find my paperwork, waited around for like 10 minutes. Finally she talks to a rep who is with a customer and informs her to release the car. They give me my keys. I ask them to leave the rental where it is so I can move over two car seats. I ask to speak to a service rep about what part is missing, she directs me to the service manager on hand. I talk to him. I dropped the sequence of events and asked why was I told the parts were in when they weren't. He looks into it, asks who told me the parts are in. I handed him my phone, he reads through the covo and looks up the number that texted me. He calls over the rep from my 8/4 appointment, asks him you texted Mr. Fatsocells his parts are in? Manager asks him did you check the parts are in? He said I received an email and called Mr Fatsocells. Rep from 8/4 walks away. Manager apologized for the shit show. Comped my oli change, and offered to pick up the LC from my residence once the parts are in.

I asked not to bring my LC to the door since I needed to swap car seats from the rental back into my car. I go to where the rental was parked, mind you, I asked the cashier to leave the rental where it is parked so i can remove the two car seats, the rental is not there. WTF. No I have to go back in, track a rental person down, she said they will bring the rental to the door and to drive my LC to the door. I spoke to manager on my way out again (not to complain but to kill time). I start driving and I see the rental in thefar distance parked, and I see the two car seats in the back. I nod my head in disappointment. I park next to it. It was locked. So I called, told it's me the annoying customer who needs to get his car seats out of the rental. She said oh the rental is by the door, I was like I'm standing next to the rental in the back. She asked where exactly, told her the exact location. A few moments later, I see her walking towards me and she realized she had the wrong keys. She turns back, gets the right keys and unlocks from a distance. I swap car seats and left as fast as I could.

TL;DR
  • Before you go in for your appointment, make sure all the parts are in!
  • Attached screenshot with red arrow is the part that is "missing"
  • Hope your dealers are more competent than mine

Sorry if I missed it earlier in the thread.

I'm getting a squeal that is not as bad (volume or duration) as some of the videos posted, and not all the time when backing up, not even a majority of the time.

Is that how it started for anyone or did it come on all at once?

I'm about a month out (estimating mileage) from my 10K service and am thinking I should call now to ensure the parts are available if this is "the squeal".

My blood pressure just went up.

It started with a mild squeal, but got bad enough to wake up every one on our side of the mountain.

You should definitely have the visit planned ahead of time, and then it wouldn’t hurt to call before you go in.

I got my TSB thing done about a month ago. 99% of the time I park my car in reverse, so did not notice anything after the TSB repairs. Yesterday happened to park in a spot for a few hours and had to reverse it out. Guess what the squeal is back again. Not sure if it is even worth it to be bothered about

Rick Hendricks Toyota our purchase dealer performed the brake recall on our 2025 a couple of weeks ago and it has not squealed since. I waited for a couple weeks with a trip to the beach which had it parked outside for a few days etc just to be sure that it is fixed. I can report that it makes zero noise even the first thing in the morning when baking out of the garage. I have been told as a lot of you have that the kits are very limited for now, hopefully all of you can get yours fixed soon.

Mine. Too.
This is so funny. My wife and I have built up all these next level "never touch the brakes while reversing" skills that are now useless! It really is weird that the squeal is gone. Toyota of Santa Fe made the repair for us without too much drama.

Welcome to the asylum.

I got my cruiser brakes fixed last week—no more squeaks! I was originally told it could take 1–2 months for parts since I was low on the list, but my service advisor came through and got them the same day.

Honestly, I think I owe it to my kids. They were super polite and curious, asking tons of questions and using all the “please” and “thank yous.” A half hour later, the advisor called to confirm the issue and said he pulled some strings to get the parts for the TSB. Pretty awesome!
