Brake squeling poll (back-up or pull forward?)

I know this is has been addressed multiple times - and I used to be one of the owners that never had squealing brakes - until now

So I've always backed my car in to park, and first drive in the morning I go forward out of my driveway. Never had squealing brakes

Lately, I've been a bit lazy and just pulls forward to park. I the morning I have to reverse out of the driveway, and about a couple weeks of doing that, my brakes had the infamous squeal.

Decided to start backing in to park, then drive forward in the mornings and the squealing went away.....

Had the issue in reverse each morning, got the TSB done and haven’t had any more instances of the issue for almost a year now.

I've been on a "waiting list" since I first learned about the TSB, probably August 2025. Keep checking with my dealer and they say they can't get any of the parts.

Called them yesterday and now they say that Toyota is not even releasing the fix anymore and there is a nation wide hold on the parts. WTF!! Curious if anyone else heard this?

I'm thinking about doing the DIY options, but don't want to let Toyota off the hook.....

I was/am in the same boat. Not worth the dealer touching my brakes.

@tacosupreme____ has a good fix with the new springs and a bit before he first posted that fix, I actually tried my own method.
I have all the stock parts, but used brake grease and put some on the pins and brake pads where they touch the calipers like the TSB shows. No more squeal.
I think the biggest thing that made the difference was greasing where the spring touches the pads.
That fixed it for me. It lasted for several months and never squealed and I just re-greased them with the last tire rotation. Once you have your tires off, it's about a 5min job per side.
I need to get the new springs ordered and then I'm convinced the squeal will be permanently gone.

The spring is upside down in this pic. I realized and flipped it later.
Normally the spring is touching the upper tabs on the pads (green lines). Grease where the spring touches like in the circled spots.
I'm curious if someone wants to try only this spot and see if it kills the squeal.

Had the reverse squeal since new (2/26), & just had TSB done this week (8/26) during the 10K service. Was about 2-month wait for parts - as they are ordered & assigned by VIN#. Our TSB provided new rotors, pads & pins. So far so good on squeal. Family Toyota of Burleson, south of Ft.Worth did the maintenance & TSB in under 2.5 hour wait. I was impressed they did my requested 5 tire rotation correctly!

The dealer replaced my front pads and shims yesterday per the TSB, under warranty. SA told me some Toyotas need pads and rotors and rotors are on back order. Mine just needed pads and shims and those were available. Too early to know if the issue is resolved, but no squeal this morning so I am hopeful.

Edit - before the repair the squeal was in reverse when brakes were cold and more so when humidity was high.

It's specific "brake parts lubricant".
I don't remember what brand I have.

Just had my TSB done and the Toyota dealership by me said they got it done, yet as soon as I got in the car when picking it up and backed up started squeaking.

Not sure if the mechanics are incompetent or something else is the issue.

Told the TSB are VIN specific & 2 LC might get different combo of parts. Makes me wonder if they may be installing some countermeasures @ the plants.
