🛠️ What Have You Done To Your LC250 Today?

How difficult is it to reach the winch controls? On my Tacoma I relocated the control box but still had to reach in to engage/disengage.
Once you remove all the plastic pieces you need to remove in order to install the bumper and winch, it's fairly easy for me to get to the clutch and the port for the controller. I'm tall and have long arms so I just reach in from above. You do have to remove the plastic trim between the radiator and grill. However, I've pulled all the trim clips and it's just a matter of pulling the hood prop rod out of the way and you can easily remove that trim.

A mod I did on my Taco winch.......... I fab'd a "U" shaped piece that fit over the clutch's "T" handle, drilled a hole and through bolted it to the handle. I welded a 3/8" short socket extension on top of the "U", added a Harbor Freight impact 3/8" wobble (the one with a spring wrapped around it), from the wobble, a long 3/8" socket extension straight up in front of the radiator. I made a stabilizer/mount from a piece of 1/4" alum flat stock with a hole drilled in it and bolted to the radiator core support. I bent an "L" shape in the end of the long extension to serve as a handle. At that to say, I can engage/disengage the clutch handle at the top of the radiator vs reaching down etc........ which is a good thing as I'm not tall and don't have long arms........... I make up for it with my "steelie eye'd missile man" looks.....LOL

Installed the 12-inch head unit, Beatsonic amp, and tweeters on my 1958. Honestly, I think the tweeters were pointless as they are being overpowered by the JL dash speakers I installed a week back. My only issue is the mic on the unit kind of sucks until they find a harness to utilize the OEM ones. The last pic is a reference to the cables that are not being utilized with the new unit (illl need to get a subscription to the Toyota manual site to figure out what these are)…. The Beatsonic preamp is pretty solid. I do notice better audio quality after the install.

Any other functionality lost? It looks pretty interesting.

So far only the OEM mic above the driver and passenger seat. Taking a little break, but I’m going to try out the remote start and see if that works in a little bit… other than that everything else is the same as well as the steering wheel control functions.

UPDATE: remote start and all the still works. Mic on this is complete dog shit. You got to swap audio to your phone as a work around during calls.
Another Update: Reverse cam takes a few extra seconds to engage...does not take long but enough to annoy me. The back up camera quality was not great to start with on the 8inch...deff is not great with the new display.

I'm thinking those molded coax connectors are for the telematics system. SOS button, remote tracking etc....

Looking at the docs i think the big connector is telemetric...two single black/white cables might be the left/right OEM mics? I have been known to be wrong in the past so this is my best guess.

My guess is based off another thread where thieves had stolen someone's LC and cut all the wires and coax cables and I assisted them in figuring out what the cut cables ran to etc....... not saying I'm right or wrong as I've never actually traced them end to end and my guess is solely based on the wiring diagrams and part placement. In the end he managed to get everything back together and it all functioned as it was supposed to.

Fair and you probably are correct. Thanks for the insight!
