TIS Discrepancy - DCM Speaker Connections 14 Speaker/JBL

Deep into my research for building out a upgraded audio system for my LC. I have come across a potential discrepancy on TIS regarding what speaker/s the DCM is connected to on the 14 speaker JBL system. I would apprecialte any insight into this, as it will make a differnce in my system design.

In the TIS repair manual section under the A/V System docs, the System Diagram clearly shows that the DCM is connected to the Front #4 speaker assembly RH (this is the tweeter in the A Pilar, Right Side), which is then jumped to the Front #1 speaker assembly, right side front door as shown below.

BUT in the TIS Electrical Wiring Diagrams section, there is a clear path (no DCM) shown from the amplifier to the #4 RH assembly....and shows that the DCM is connected to the to the Front #2 Assembly, which is the right dash speaker as shown below.

I would trust the wiring diagram over the system layout diagram, provided your looking at the 14 speaker diagram?

You could always just begin an SOS call to hear where the voice prompts come from and cancel it before making an actual SOS call out. It would make the most sense the the RD dash speaker is the one with the audio connection as you want to have the speaker that least likely to be damaged in an accident so center or RH dash speakers would be the ones.

I think another member here confirmed this today in another audio build thread but not sure if his was the 14 speaker configuration?

Yes - verified the 14 speaker diagram on TIS, the 10 speaker system also shows the same speaker assembly being connected to the DCM. I will make a test call to check, good call I had not really thought about that. I agree the RH Dash speaker being connected would make more sense for the reason you stated, and also that the amp in the DCM can't be very powerful and it would probably be able to drive the smaller single speaker better than a larger woofer and a tweeter.

I did see the other post you mentioned today, which sparked my curiosity and i started looking at the documentation and subsequently found the discrepancy. That member's post was regarding the 10 speaker system. It would also make sense that the 10 and the 14 would be the same in this regard.

I will report back after a test call. Never pressed that button before, luckily I have not had a need to.
