I pick mine up today. I upgraded the amps, DSPs and added a subwoofer back in November but I needed time to save for the speakers. Here is my complete set up:
I can not wait to climb into this thing later this afternoon. I've waited almost 8 months to get the speakers installed!
- Amplifier Integration Interface for Select 2022+ vehicles
- JL Audio VXi Series 8 Ch. Amp w/integrated DSP
- WavTech link500.1mini (sub amp)
- JL Audio TW3 Series 10" Thin-Line Subwoofer Dual 4 Ohm 400W
- JL Autio 2.75: Component Midrange Speakers (2)
- JL Audio 1" Component tweeter, Sing.e (2)
- JL Audio 6.5" Component Woofer (s)
- JL Audio C3 6.5" Convertible Component/Coaxial Speaker System
- Various harnesses, install kits, etc.
Will report.
I have a potential solution - being installed next week. I’ll report on the results.Crutchfield being a leader in this field, may be worth listening to. With the ongoing battery issues in the TLC. Use some caution with the electronics on this vehicle.
For anyone who is interested - here is my sound system upgrade thread - JBL Sound System UpgradeI have a potential solution - being installed next week. I’ll report on the results.

Fantastic. Sounds terrific across the spectrum. I’m very pleased. How'd it go?
Any follow up to the comment about the Telematics Transceiver. I'm in the same boat, want to replace/bypass the JBL AMP and replace all speakers. Ideally I would replace/install new speaker wire so that I can drive the front pillar tweeters and front door woofers on separate channels but I would like to keep the telematics (assuming its the SOS communications) features intact. From my understanding the AP4-TY-14 PAC AmpPro goes inline with T harness between the head unit and the JBL AMP, and the JBL AMP needs to stay installed but disconnected from the speakers to retain functionality. The AmpPro just hijacks the signal on its way to the JBL AMP and takes a copy of the the data (audio) while still allowing the JBL AMP to communicate with the Head Unit. It's really pretty amazing how overcomplicated these audio systems have become, and that there is so little info out there on this. This is way different than throwing a head unit, a couple 6x9s, amps and subs in the back of my car in high school! There is only one installer in my area (other than a Best Buy) and they were up front in saying they that this was not in their wheelhouse, they told me that they were an "installer" not an "integrator".@Thx_1158 reading through TIS, it seems that for both the 10 and 14 speaker systems, the telematics unit has the ability to hijack the front right dash speaker path during emergency call situations. It also mentions DTC B1ACA71 will be thrown if "Open in the front speakerRH circuit is detected."
Curious if you knew about this and had a solution? if you wired your own front dash speaker did you leave the telematics connected to another dedicated speaker? You can also put a dummy load on the telematics SPO(+/-) speaker output if you don't mind dropping that functionality.
I was considering leaving the OEM center dash speaker dedicated to telematic unit and wiring my own L/R dash speaker.

Hey there. Answer is yes, I’ve done a ton more work on my LC LC sound system, it’s just about done (chasing down rattles right now) but will post details to help folks out in a future thread.Any follow up to the comment about the Telematics Transceiver. How does this work? If im understanding correctly, shouldn’t the emergency call work via the right speaker?Hey there. Answer is yes, I’ve done a ton more work on my LC LC sound system, it’s just about done (chasing down rattles right now) but will post details to help folks out in a future thread.
Regarding the telematics unit. I ran dedicated 18 gauge speaker wire from the Audison M8.14 DSP amplifier mounted under the seat to the left/right dash/tweeters. I have removed the centre speaker from the stereo essentially and made a short (3ft) extension to jumper over the right dash speaker to the centre speaker location. So the Telematics ECU now has a dedicated centre speaker. I made a test emergency call, you don’t have to let the call go though to hear the voice prompts on the centre speaker to confirm it all works.
The attached image is the centre speaker with the extension installed.
It does normally yes, but the extension I made plugs into the OEM wiring for the front right dash speaker and moves it to the centre. This is only possible if you are running aftermarket speaker wire to the dash speakers. So the telematics ECU hijacks the front right speaker audio path which has now been rerouted to the centre speaker. How does this work? If im understanding correctly, shouldn’t the emergency call work via the right speaker?
