Is it wired to 1 phase of the house mains? If so it's an option.

im waiting for my vehicle to arrive at the dealer in the next few weeks, , and the product/install here is either $1200 or ($1475 with bluetooth dongles and application capability). Is the added blue tooth keys and phone application capability worth it? or should I use Disklok?

My LCLC was stolen in Manhattan NY this morning. I was able to recover it using AirTags hidden in the vehicle. I keep one bait AirTag visible in the cup holders and another hidden. The thieves found the bait AirTag and tossed it but didn’t find the hidden one. Looks like they stashed the LC in a rough area of the Bronx to “cool-off”. I was able to recover it just a few hours later but the thieves made an absolute mess of the dash and center console and broke a window. They cut a bunch of wires going to the hard-drive looking module in the center console. Took the LC to the dealership and filed police and insurance reports. It sucks that we cannot have nice things. I’ll need to invest in more anti-theft deterrents.

Ugh this sucks. Hopefully they have it looking like new for you in record time, nice trick with the tags!
Agreed- I may have to borrow that concept.
Curious how they drove it away? Key relay attack? but if they did that then they wouldn't have had to break the window... very interested.

Well, it looks like what we've been seeing in Canada and Europe may finally be hitting our shores. There have been quite a few reports of LC250 thefts and attempted thefts in Canada, and the problem has also been reported overseas.
This is the first confirmed report I've seen on this forum of an LC250 being stolen in the U.S. Hopefully it's an isolated case and not the beginning of a trend here.

Did you download the digital key via the Toyota app?
Its a shame. But high value items do attract thieves. Can Toyota or Police offer any guidelines for future preventions. Since these criminals do so much damage in thier efforts to steal our TLC's ? Sometimes insurance companies can offer prevention tips to avoid big payouts for this type misbehaviors...
A few of the inmates here have had their LC stolen..
I would be at your dealer’s service department first thing this morning if you didn’t download a digital key, as basicxj mentioned.
It's a bit of a hijack here, but when we bought our defender we had to sign a form that said we wouldnt ship the vehicle to middle east or some other regions. Dealer said that the transfer of desirable cars (LC, LR) out of usa was due to high cost of these vehicles elsewhere in the world. He said huge market for black market purchases of these vehicles. Where there's demand, supply will follow.
Very true. If thieves can supply these types of vehicles at discount rates there is incentive to import them.
Fellow NYC cruiser here did they clone another a key via obd port to get it started? Sorry for the damage .
They broke a window to gain access and ripped open the left button panel above the odb port. I believe they used some device or exploit to get it started from there. I’m not if they used the odb port too.
