Someone tampered with my LC… What’s going on here?

So, James Bond is hacking our trucks to steal them? (joking) How did they get into the truck to begin with? Seems like that may be the weak link. Kinda like asking "How did they break into my Safe Deposit box?" when you should be asking "How did they get into the vault?".
If you know where to put jimmy bar, it takes seconds to pop a lock.

Forgive my ignorance/innocence but would that not trigger the alarm? I may have been living in a rose-colored world for years now.

IDK, but shouldn't be any different than using the key.

I believe using the key also triggers the alarm, unless it was locked with the key as well.

Another possibility is that they accidentally installed a dash cam on it, which was later removed.

Well the question was never how or why they got in the truck, but instead why they would have tried to gain access to the cables behind the rear view

In my opinion, if someone break in to your vehicle to hack it through the mirror, they would not put the sensor assembly back together after they fail, and lock the vehicle after leaving. This either happened at the factory, or at the port, or at the dealer, or the tint shop.

I’m pretty sure you don’t remove the mirror cover to install the Toyota camera. The power cable is above the roof console, not the mirror. I followed the Toyota instructions to install my Dongar adapter and after market dash cam to the same factory dash cam power cable.

I had my windshield tinted and when I got it back that cover wasn't seated right. Tinting shop also told me they didn't remove it, but I know for sure it was on right when it went in because I took a good look at it the day before to see if it looked like they'd have to remove it for the tint application. Maybe caused by an overenthusiastic squeegee jockey doing a hamfisted job putting it back on after accidentally dislodging it?

Most tint shops have a machine that cuts the tint out to fit the space perfectly, AROUND the mirror. As a former window tint installer, to me, it seems unlikely that the squeegee jockey caused this.

That's a fair assessment, I have zero experience with tint application so you definitely would know better than me. All I'm claiming is that I physically and visually checked that cover the night before I did the tinting and it wasn't loose, but it was immediately afterwards. Since it doesn't seem prone to coming loose easily at all, and I doubt the tint shop was attempting a CANbus attack, it's all a bit of a head scratcher.
