prado 250 brake Noise Manufacturing Issue

I want to highlight key issues regarding the Prado 250: the brake noise problem and dealer transparency.

Firstly, for anyone considering purchasing a brand-new Prado 250, be aware that this vehicle has a manufacturing defect causing brake noise—something the dealer will likely not disclose at the time of sale. Believe me, the noise is not just unpleasant; it can also be embarrassing. Until Toyota provides a proper fix, I strongly advise against purchasing this model.

However, if you still decide to go ahead with the purchase, I highly recommend including a contractual clause stating that if the issue persists, you have the right to return the vehicle for a full refund.

Secondly, as an owner of the Prado 250 who paid full price for the vehicle, I would like to understand whether we, as customers, are entitled to compensation from Toyota or the dealer for failing to disclose this issue at the time of sale. This lack of transparency has impacted the ownership experience, and I believe affected owners deserve a fair resolution.

If anyone has insights or has pursued this matter, please share your experience.
Us too. It's been 5 months. Every day, all day. It's horrible. We are getting the run-around from our dealer. They say they are waiting on parts, but when pressed, say that they have no parts to order because Toyota Australia haven't yet acknowledged the problem. Essentially, we have no resolution. I am currently in the process of seeking media attention. It's my understanding (if my research is correct) that Lexus was experiencing the same issue, but has since resolved it for their customers. This is our first Toyota and hasn't been an overly pleasant experience. To be fair, we really like our dealer; the guys are great, but Toyota Australia ties their hands. This needs more pressure from the public on Toyota Australia directly. Beyond filing a Dealer Product Report with your dealer, focus on putting pressure on Toyota Australia. I believe this is outside of our dealers' hands. I would also suggest that we all consider publicly commenting on their social media platforms - not the dealers' profiles, but Toyota Australia's. I will be sending their public relations team a letter about this in the coming days. This is terrible for their brand. Reversing from a parking space, everyone looks over to see which car is making such a terrible, unreliable noise, and it's coming from a brand new Toyota.

It's my understanding that no one in Australia has had a resolution yet, and some people have been experiencing this for 6, 7 months.

There are lots of aftermarket brake pads available that are not Toyota OEM that can be used. Check the LC300 for reference. Let us know what works!

Thank you. So do you reckon, that's my option? Should I fix it myself instead of waiting for Toyota to warranty it? This has been such a crappy experience with Toyota. I can't believe I'm in the position of spending over $100k on a vehicle that sounds like this.
