Okay so I was in the ih8mud GX/LC 250 forums and found this thread titled
In that thread there is a post that says he talked to a dealer that informed him there will be a TSB coming out that addresses brake squeal when in reverse on GX and LC. “Dealer said” replacing pads and shims. I don’t know if this is actually true as there is no source referenced (noTSB posted yet).

Done. I experienced it again today, and just reported it online. My dealer in Kalispell could not replicate it at 1st oil change. I told them it only occurs first thing in the morning. Definite squeal at 3 mph with light application of breaks in reverse.Has anyone thought about making a complaint about the brakes with the NHTSA? Could the brakes become a safety issue? Do we know enough about the problem to determine if it will become a safety problem?

We also own a GX550 Overtrail and it and our LC FE both do the same on first trip backing down the driveway. Lexus dealer advised me today that the company is aware of the problem and will be shipping parts to correct it. No details as to when.
Miss Daisy squeals like a stuck pig, any time of the day, morning, afternoon, or evening, that I drive her, rain or shine. It is getting worse by the day.
I got a phone call from the dealer where I purchased my LC saying they got a notice there is an e-brake issue and I can schedule a fix. It was a voicemail, so I didn't get a chance to ask for details, but I have my 5k service coming up and will ask for it to be addressed then.
Went in for my 5k service today. The dealer replicated the problem, but just gave a collective shrug and said everything looks fine. There’s nothing they see in the system regarding corrective action or recall (yet).
Dang, that’s just disappointing. Well, it’s documented and they did replicate the sound so it’s on record. Hopefully Toyota figures this out soon.

Made the complaint as well, reported with Toyota corporate, reported to my dealer and their escalation line 3 times now. For the first time the dealer said "Toyota, to our knowledge, is addressing the noise and it is not a safety issue."

I remember riding the brakes after creek crossings on my Husqvarna with drum brakes back in the day. You needed stopping power as you rentered the twisty single tracks during an enduro. The only way to dry them out was to get them hot enough to dissipate the water from the drums. Bummer. Then Husqvarna entered the 20th century with primary kick starting. Takes me back. Funny how we remember the spooky stuff from back in the day...This is a super interesting theory that might align with my experience.
I had the squeek for maybe one week back in late July-ish. I only noticed it happening consistently in one particular parking lot and it was extremely hot out so AC was blowing hard. I haven't been in that parking lot since my kid moved schools and I have not heard the squeek since. Maybe there is an angle where condensation will drip on a brake pad and maybe, the people who hear it all the time are parking at that angle regularly?
Personally, as a mountain biker, squeeky brakes don't alarm me. It's a comforting reminder that they are still there and they are still working.
For whatever it’s worth, Lexus quickly replaced brake components on my Overtrail and 15k miles later not a single squeal from them. The morning back-up squeal from my wife’s FE went away many thousands of miles ago on its own. Both vehicles have been rock solid at 20+ miles.
I haven’t been too concerned with the squeak, it’s a little annoying but I’m not torn up about it like a some folks around here and other forums.
I’ve owned the following Toyotas: ‘16, ‘18, ‘21 Tacoma, ‘20 21 RAV4, 22 Tundra and finally the ‘24 LC. They all had the brake squeak so I chalk it up to being a Toyota thing.
