Replacing dash speakers and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the wire harness clips onto the speaker. It is so tight and I can't get them on. I don't want to break the posts on the speaker. Assuming there is trick or something I don't know I need to do to get them on?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Appears to be standard slip-on's to me. If the female side is wide enough, a bit more force?

Thanks man. Ended up really forcing with a little wiggle back and forth and it finally went. I think one of the harness quick slides was a little off because the 2nd one went on much easier. Can't believe the difference in sound. Everyone saying a dash speaker upgrade makes the most impact for the base 6 speaker system is right.

So , after nearly a few weeks, are you still pleased with the sound and have you replaced any other components?

Yes, still pleased. The dash speaker upgrade helped a lot. Of course not amazing sound from the basic 6 speaker set up, but the improvement is very noticeable. Nothing else replaced yet, but I plan to do the Beat Sonic amp and the front and rear door speakers at some point.

Obviously you figured it out, but just leaving this here for anyone else that stumbles upon this thread with the same issue.

It’s much, much easier to connect the harness to the speaker first, then the speaker+harness to the vehicle.

Also the sound source matters a lot when evaluating the performance. I was underwhelmed with the upgrade when using Spotify (and eventually Apple Music) via CarPlay, but the upgraded speakers kick ass on native SiriusXM

We’re you wired or wireless in CarPlay?
