Just got a new LC 250 - really appreciate the insight from this thread - thanks all. I love the KOs (had them on my high school Yukon so am nostalgically biased to that brand / make). I put on the KO3s (265/60/20) today and will never look back to the factory Dunlops.

They are in the stock size of 265/70-R18

So as is typical through the Winter the MPGs have dropped. Now down to 17.9mpg.

One other thing the D series are out and the weight savings is not so substantial which is a little perplexing.

I think they do pretty good in the snow, not so much on ice. Overall I've been happy with them but I think I'll try something lighter next.

I'm also surprised on how little weight the D rated K03 lost vs the E rated. I think I'm going to pass on the K03's. I have Nokian LT3 E rated winter tires on right now and they're great but I don't want to go any heavier. Thinking about the Nokian NAT's or Toyo AT3's (not the OEM GA version) for this spring.

Toyos are never the wrong choice. They aren't as aesthetic as the KO3's, but they are, IMO, simply the best A/T out there.

Leaning towards the Pirellis, Toyo's would be lighter though. I've got time, I'll change them out before next Winter.

I just put Nitto on my FJCruiser 285/70R17 SL went from KO2 E . So far the ride is much better. Was thinking on Nitto G3 275/70R18 on my Land Cruiser. The FJ came with Pirelli Scorpion but that was 20 years ago. So thinking of Pirelli also.

So it does look like the Pirelli Scorpion XTM AT are going to be available in a 116T load. I've asked them what that weight will be for our stock size on the 18s and will report back.


Still shocked by how little wear on the KO3's. There's cost for sure on what you're giving up on the MPG, but you're getting some of that back on the longevity.

It's just that fricken range with that stupid tiny tank makes me want a lighter tire.

I was thinking what don't I love about this thing and that's it.
