Thatโ€™s awesome! Congrats!
Thx. Saw him 8 of 9 days before I could get a shot. Was an awesome trip. Shot a grizz in camp at 40 yards that followed his blood/ meat trail back after we packed him out the next day. Actually took rest on the moose antlers to shoot.

I went to Cody, WY a few weeks ago to the Gunwerks Long Range University for a work thing. I learned a ton as I am typically not a long range guy. I am working with a charity that takes deer meat, has it processed into protein sticks and distributes straight to needy kids in KY through schools. 21% of our kids are protein deficient.

Anyway the school inspired me to set up a doe killer. I havenโ€™t whitetail hunted in 13 years but plan to rack up a pile of does this fall now. Might as well make it fun and shoot from 400-600 yards, right.

So I came home, traded a shotgun for a 6.5 Creedmoor, slapped a 5x20 Trijicon scope on it, screwed a suppressor on, and got to shooting. I want to get a bunch of load data so I can have a turret cut for it. Also thinking of getting a different suppressor that only sticks out 4-5โ€ past the muzzle and comes back 5โ€ over the barrel. This thing is way too long, but it is pretty accurate, especially with the handicap of having me as the shooter.
The first time out, I was able to zero at 100, and then shoot a decent group at 200 and 300 and hit small steel plates at 400-500-600. Thatโ€™s the max at our range, but I know this thing will shoot way better than its owner.

That school sounds awesome, as does the charity that provides the venison for school kids. There would be no hungry children in a just world.

Sub MOA is definitely good enough for me! I donโ€™t think I own a gun that doesnโ€™t outshoot my ability. What are you thinking for the suppressor? Reflex cans arenโ€™t nearly as popular this side of the Atlantic as they are amongst European hunters. I assume youโ€™re leaning that way for better weight balance? If so, you may consider some of the titanium options available, which help the weight a bit without adding in the mirage issues that reflex suppressors can exacerbate by heating the barrel. Hydrogen L is an example I like (Iโ€™m a big fan of what the OCL guys are doing).

Thx and Iโ€™ll check them out. I was thinking an AB reflex with six baffles out and about 5โ€ of reflex back. I shot a 7prc in NZ - see photo- back in March and loved it with full reflex. I do want titanium and will check the ones you mentioned out. There is a company called Ridgeback Defense here in my town and I have met the owner and hear good things about them. Thinking of their titanium as well. Once I get this dialed in, I wonโ€™t be shooting a ton of rounds through it regularly. Just occasional practice and hunting.

Look at the size of that creature! What is it?

Hereโ€™s to hoping acquiring suppressors becomes a lot simpler in the near future. Iโ€™m not holding my breath, but recent challenges to the NFA are promising.

A big elk - my understanding is if they donโ€™t appeal the suppressor ruling by this weekend- we can buy OTC.
