Your speculation is based off what facts? Surely the hybrid model transmissions would be built or spec'ed differently to handle the torque. Or are you suggesting that the non hybrids are severely overbuilt?
Based on common sense (common architecture saves money) and research, here is just one part: C1 clutch and band assembly 3561060200 which is the same for all three units.
 
I assume the 2026 would have the brakes fixed at the factory. Have to wait for 2027 to see what CR rates them
 
Pretty sure all those transmissions are the same 8 speed unit, the difference is L580F has Hybrid MG unit attached up front (L5) and married transfer case in the rear (F), (A) is no Hybrid MG up front (traditional longitudinal configuration) with the same rear configuration and the last one (E at he end) has a different tail shaft as there is no transfer case attached. The actual transmission other than the external case design (fluid ports running in the case to the hybrid clutch pack) and front and rear (input/output) shafts are different but otherwise the meat and potatoes are the same (gears, valve bodies, solenoids, filter, etc.).

I don't think Toyota or any other manufacturer would have three different 8 speeds running at the same time. Transmissions are made by Aisin and they only have two 8 speed basic configurations on the market a longitudinal and transversely mounted 8 speeds and 3 or 4 different series (80, 81, 82 & F8).
The BIG difference between the hybrid and non-hybrid transmission is that the hybrid has an electric fluid pump, and the non-hybrid doesn't. Both also have a mechanical fluid pump. The electric pump is necessary to engage the K0 clutch while the vehicle is stationary.
And what has been failing in the LC transmissions? The electric pump. 🤣😂🤣
 
Consumer Reports thinks it has a great transmission right? They’re pretty unhappy about that brake squeal though. Reminds me I need to check parts at my dealer.
 
I’m also pretty annoyed about the brake squeal. It’s not a huge deal but it’s annoying on such a nice vehicle. Not sure whether I would use it to downgrade reliability, since it has nothing to do with function.

My brake squeal was fixed at 16k miles. It never bothered me that much. The way I see it, I got a brand new set of brakes for free at 16k miles.
 
Toyotas as an over all statement are not what they used to be.
Relatively speaking still one of the best on all counts.
The standards continue to change world wide to compete as well as the decaying human element in pretty much all cases.
The automation creates problems f its own as well as human purposeful problems to resist the changes.

Those are all the same transmission with same gear ratios etc. if you have evidence against it post it here for us to see. Otherwise stop speculating.

I've already provided evidence, your speaking out your @$$, they are all from the 80 series aisin transmission line, so no the models aren't different the attaching parts at the front and rear are. Much like the 1UR-FE and 3UR-FE engines which share more parts than not.

It's not cost effective to manufacture, maintain logistics chains, maintain special tooling and train technicians among other things on four complete different setups, there is a reason the auto industry and others have been using shared architecture for decades. They even share engineering, design and technology through various partnerships and have been doing so for a long time (Ford/Mazda, Ford/Volvo just one example), our Volvo has numerous FoMoCo stamped parts on it.

Kinda like the T24 and V35 engine families both have allot of configurations based on platforms used on but the internals and blocks are all the same within their respective family. Nothing is mechanically designed at its required rating, common engineering design factors anywhere 1.5 to 2.5 times the max configuration stress for adaptability and reliability.

Automatic transmissions can be adapted quite easily to suite the application when otherwise internally exactly the same via just a torque convertor change or if more is needed changes to the valve body, the axles gear ratio also plays significantly into what kinda stress the transmission is going to receive and these days the shift logic for the ECU can yield dramatic effects as well.

^ he’s right; it would be totally insane economically for a manufacturer to use different transmissions across models where the use case is similar.

Shared architecture doesn't mean they are the same. As you very well spelled out some of the potential differences. Unless you have a internal parts diagram comparing the two it's all speculation. There can be small differences between the two that can spell being reliable and not reliable. I.e. the highlander UA80

Do research, I provided one internal part that are the same not doing others as I already know they are the same. Your wrong but insist otherwise. Nothing worse than providing false guessed information.

Im not going to argue with you over semantics. Believe whatever you want. I provided the actual part/models of the transmissions used. You can believe whatever youd like. You are utilizing your own logic to fill in the gap of information that is not publicly available currently. "Trust me bro".
Having different torque converters and pumps means they aren't the same, I don't know what you are trying to prove. You can look at any of Toyotas transmissions previously and find minor changes between same family of transmissions that can mean the differences in experience. I.e. the ua80. R154 etc. if they were exactly the same they would have the same model. Shared architecture doesn't mean they are the same transmission. God speed to you.
 
I’m not the one using semantics you are, you went from their all the same to now minor differences. The internals are the same I’ve provided the evidence and the information is avaialable to the public. The transmission is the 8 speed gearbox portion and has nothing to do with the torque convertor, hybrid drive or t-case. The external cases of the transmissin are different as the non hybrids don’t need to send fluid to the hybrid drive clutch via its case.

I’d go as far to say even the transverse configurations are using to same internals but don’t care to dive that deep into it.

Does adding a turbo or two to the same engine family not make it the same block or does adding hybrid to it make it different? The answer is no. They are all internally geared the same and using the same parts for the gearing.

In this case L=Hybrid drive, (K0 clutch assembly) A=Conventional drive (torque convertor), F= married transfer case, E=direct to drive shaft 2WD), 8= 8 speed 80 family transmission.

Don’t know what the 5 signifies but it may have that info is TIS?

OP is pretty unhappy that they didn’t rate transmission reliability low because now he can’t push transmission issues.

You expect everyone that disagrees with you to provide evidence like parts diagrams. But expect everyone to take you BS as gospel.
