Carista users, whats the real deal, with this unit??

If you are talking about the rear seat reminder chime (and notification on the instrument cluster), I don’t believe that can be defeated with Carista or the scanner of your choice.

I hate that damn thing- 80% of the time I am driving the Land Cruiser solo- no child, no pet, no valuables left in the rear seat so I don’t need a reminder to check the rear seat. With that said. you just know there is someone out there who is willing to sue the auto manufacturer because they left a toddler unattended in a car seat and the vehicle didn’t advise them to check before parking and going into the casino for eleven hours 😔
Continuing on your winning comment, the majority of the beeps and warnings are required by law. Each of these warnings add cost to the manufacture of vehicle, which toyota would obviously avoid if their legal dept still said they could. Toyota doesnt do these things because they want us to go insane, all though i wonder sometimes. Our 2026 defender is just as annoying as the LC if not more- it honks the horn if you get out with it running, or turns off the car. Carista to the rescue i hope.

^^^Yep the nanny state is costing us dearly. Not only in annoying safety features. The costs of these bells and whistles drives up the volume of all things... Yes, carista is one of the front runners in squelching the noise. Its ironic that the cost to turn down the noise and annoying features is soo high...
