Brakes Squeal

Mine squeal every time exiting my in-law's family gatherings. Other times it's about 50% of reverse scenarios. Not pleased...

Are dealers or Toyota still low on parts? 3rd time i've brought to the dealer.

They still have no parts and again mentioned 3 weeks, which, the never called to update last time

Admittedly I’ve not read all 38 pages of this thread but is there a DIY fix for this? The older German cars would provide a special grease to put behind the pads to stop squealing. Could that work? It will be many years before I get my LC in for 10k service so a simple home fix would be preferred. I’ve always done my own brake work.

It works. Did it to mine. I used the two Toyota specific greases listed in the tsb. One is specific to rubber contact on the caliper piston seals, while the other is for the metal-to-metal touch points on the corners of the pads.

I have learned that Toyota has throttled the distribution of parts to correct the brake squeal. Regardless of individual dealership volume / demand, Toyota limits the number of parts the dealer can order per day for this issue. Makes no sense, as I am dealing with the No. 1 dealer in the country and they are limited to the same number of brake parts requests as a small dealership that might not have even sold a Land Cruiser.

Does anyone else exerience brakes squeel in reverse? Mine seems to do it mostly after it has sat for a while. I only notice it in reverse.

My 2024 1958 did that a lot initially. Until it didn't. 20K in, it's been a great truck.

I mentioned to service department in late February and they said no problem and made appointment for the following week and did the TSB and no more squeal. Already had parts in stock too. Another dealer where I purchased that i took it to earlier wanted to wait. Some of the dealer service departments are lazy and incompetent. Same for other brands too.

Guess I spoke too soon. Had my LC parked for the weekend while using my truck to tow a trailer, swapped back this afternoon and the squealing is back. So cleaning the contact points and changing the springs worked for awhile, but here we are.

Tengo que decir que me los cambiaron en garantía hace 7.000 km. y ahora lo vuelve a hacer. Hoy lo he llevado al Concesionario. A la espera de lo que me dicen.
