Brakes Squeal

Mine (delivery mid May 2025--1,000 miles) just started to squeak today! I knew I saw something here. Thank you to each and everyone of you for posting the issues whether positive or negative. I'm contacting the dealer tomorrow. I've printed the first page of the pdf to take with me if I need to. THANK YOU!!

I called the dealer, and they said that they would need to replicate the issue. I told them it happens in the morning time when i first reverse and does not happen until the next day. Well that was not good enough with them and they said that they need to replicate the issue consistently.
Has anyone heard of such stupid pushback from their dealers?

Contact Toyota Customer Relations. They told me previously that a video was good enough. They'll contact your dealer.

Not quite understanding the mindset............ IF you had a business and someone purchased something from you, they stated it's broken and I want it fixed for free. No way you would convince me, you would replace parts without first verifying that the parts were in fact defective.

Sure it sucks that many are only experiencing the problem after sitting all night and it can't be replicated after driving to the dealership. If your dealership won't accept a time stamped video of the squealing........ I'd park it close to the service bay entrance (not blocking it) over night, arrive the next morning, walk in and bring the service advisor outside and film them while they replicate the squeal.

I told them that I can leave it with them overnight, but they said, well you will have to uber your way back home and then uber your way back to the dealership again.
I will see if I can take a video of it when I go in for my first 6 month service thing.

Trust me as a widower, I know all about dealerships and uber.

I am having the same issue with brakes squealing in reverse. I am taking mine in to the dealer on Wednesday to see if it can be fixed. I know my neighbors will like it if I got fixed too. :) Stay tuned!

I just got a call back from the service advisor where I purchased my 24 LC and she said since the recall or tsb is not showing up under my vin number in their system they are not obligated to address it yet. SUCH BULL SHIT!!!!!!!!!!

Called the service department today. Swore there was no service bulletin for the issue. Had to read him the number. Then he called parts department who told him the parts are not available to order so they will have to call me back at some point. Why have a TSB without the parts available?

FYI for those calling their dealership. I called yesterday and the TSB did not show up for my VIN. I asked them to input the actual TSB number and they confirmed it does apply to my LC. At the time, they did not yet have an action plan in place, but then called me back this morning and said the TSB requires me to bring in the car for them to confirm the issue, at which time they can order the parts. I asked if i could just provide a video and they said they unfortunately have to do it themselves. I am taking in my car on Friday and leaving it with them overnight so they can replicate the issue (although it happens now every few hours the car sits).

Annoying process, sure, but it will now be fixed under Basic Warranty.

Because people will keep calling Toyota corporate to complain there's no TSB. Now LC250 owners can get in line with Tundra, Sequoia, and 4Runner owners to replace their squeaky brake pads.

My local dealership told me there was no TSB until I sent them a picture of the TSB… then they stated they won’t complete the TSB unless I leave the vehicle with them overnight so they can replicate the issue. This is so annoying and inconvenient…. I’ll have to contact another dealership.

Like others, I called the dealer and they said no “recall” for my vehicle. However, they said to bring it in so they can see if it will be fixed at no cost. Everytime I bring it in for something,, I tell them to document the brake squeal, so there’s a history. Bringing it in on Thursday, so cross my fingers! It’s getting louder and louder, rarely in the morning, it’s after it’s been sitting only a short while. It’s been warm out and I’ve had my windows down, didn’t realize how loud they are! And I am hearing impaired!

Sad to report that post anti-squeal shim kit, new pads and rotor machining, the squeal is back. It's nowhere near as bad, but its back. Mine was done pre-TSB. Maybe will take it back in at next service and ask for the TSB after they get more practice.

Maybe you need to call the Toyota number and complain.

My service advisor just got the required approval to repair my brake squeal. I can't tell you how happy this makes me. That squeal was irritating at times.

Just had my appointment today in Central FL. The service advisor said they had so many complaints, and witnessed it themselves, they didnt need my verification video. They have been waiting for the TSB and have parts on hand. 2 hours and it was all done. Verified the part numbers on the service receipt. I'm a happy camper.
