Attempted Theft and the Backorder Struggle

Quick question as i'm not too sure how the device works - what stops the thieves from breaking the glass - opening the hood and replacing the kill switch relay ? would that stop the can bus attacks and programming another key?

Nothing can 100% stop vehicle thefts if they have serious plan to take it…please name one method that people uses daily can completely stop vehicle theft 100%?
Even though you have all kinds of physical locks, electronic locks, intelligent devices…thefts can take flatbed truck to haul your vehicle away.
“Anti- theft” stuffs just add more security layers to slow down or make “regular” random thefts giving up…
It’s always better to have security layers than “nothing”.

If they come with all kinds of tools… all kinds of hacking stuffs…and all kind of fuses, relays…and with perfect plan. Now, they are earned it for their hard working
My rigs have alarm, apple AirTag, steering wheel lock, and kill switch

Hi Jpto , thanks for sharing .. I'm planning on getting the TAG + Igla - the goal for the igla is to mitigate the successful removal or theft of the vehicle from its parked location within a short period or carjacking! .. TAG won't mitigate that. Some igla dealers are advising to disable bluetooth and not permitting owners to know where the igla is installed in the vehicle to hide it .. kind of adding another layer with the "need to know" principal or maybe hiding any mess they do with their work ..(that's TBD )

As for warranty ! I agree a major concern .. but here's the kicker the Lexus owner lost his vehicle after removing the device .. i.e. all the headache and inconvenience to get another Vehicle., insurance, etc... vs the cost of the wiring harness. so Damned if we do, damned if we don’t use the proper security measures..

Any suggested measures or alternatives to the Igla for the purposes stated? Toyota dealers in the GTA are not installing the igla.. i've asked around and the one in Ancaster if you didn't buy the vehicle from them they will direct you to their installer.. Thoughts???

I'm not sure if any Toyota dealer would install IGLA after purchase. I got mine arranged last year before I picked it up, I'm sure they sent it to a third party, I had TAG, IGLA & tint done before pickup.

The only dealer i know about in the GTA that installs the igla with the purchase of the vehicle is the one in Ancaster and yes its installed by a 3rd party - the toyota dealership is not an authorized Igla reseller.. is that the same dealership?

No I got my LC from a dealer east of the GTA, smaller town where my folks live. I'm not naming the dealer as the dealer was doing me a favour, apparently dealers within driving distance to the GTA were told to sell locally so GTA buyers don't get all of the allocation. I'm not sure if this is still the case in 2025
