2024 Land Cruiser require Premium Fuel?

I would hope so, but Toyota is famously conservative.

That conservative mindset does make me optimistic that the T24A-FTS will be fine in all engine load conditions with 87 Octane. Toyota has been good in the past understanding that most of their customers are cheap skates and want their vehicle to run on low grade cat urine pulling a trailer up a mountain in 105F ambient temperatures.

So the only engine you can get in north America for the LC is the Hybrid and no 3ed seat. Europe, from my understanding only gets the Diesel but has three rows of seating. Interesting decision by Toyota but understandable due to diesel passenger car sales not doing great in the USA. I know paying more for the Premium gas isn't that much but it is the point of contention for many people. If you are driving a performance car with a high output engine premium makes sense but, the LC isn't a performance car. One of its main competitors offers a 4 cyl. turbo that takes regular gas. Even the Hybrid model takes regular. If the engine needs premium then the question is why. With the electric motor assist, why. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe, a different Hybrid system, is getting around 25 mpg of combined driving using regular gas. Certainly Toyota builds a better motor than Jeep right? Maybe not. So the Lexus only comes with the twin turbo V6 getting pretty bad mpg. The Hybrid is coming later this year? So why didn't Toyota tune the LC for regular and then up the performance on the Lexus hybrid and require premium.

Sometimes things are what they are. Why does it matter anyway? If you don’t want a hybrid, don’t buy a Land Cruiser. If you want 3rd row seats, don’t buy a Land Cruiser. It’s that simple. The people that try to either complain or guess what Toyota was thinking waste their time and justify why they don’t buy something. I could care less whether or not it fits your needs or the needs of anyone else. It fits my needs and that all that really matters to me.

I view the forum as a place to find out information that is helpful to me as a Land Cruiser owner, not read other people whine and complain about things they cannot control.

Yep, pretty tired of hearing why someone shouldn't buy above MSPR, why would anyone buy with the MPG not as initially advertised, Toyota should have done this and I'm not getting it because of that...... it goes on and on. As someone posted earlier. Don't rip on others because of your opinion. Either contribute to questions rendered or quit trolling.

Hey, I’m willing to cut you some slack…given it’s only your 2nd post and that many of the things you mentioned….several folks on here (myself included) have already griped and whined about some of these things months ago and now they are buried deep in different threads.

I reached out to TFLTruck to see if they had any info why Tacoma Hybrid is specified as 87 and Land Cruiser is 91. Usually when premium fuel is specified, they will say it can also run on lower grade with a hit to performance. That is not the case here. Why are the manuals not specified the same way? I don't mind using premium fuel, but very curious why the same engine has different two different specifications as pointed out multiple times on this thread. Clarification from Toyota is needed.

This is a still from a video for the LC250 Prado sold in the GCC. 95 RON is 91 AKI (i.e. "premium"). Note how it says "recommended fuel type". I'm waiting for the manual to be published.
